We had an undercover consultation at Trinity Funeral Home to get a real sense of their cremation services.
Their Simple Cremation package covers the essentials—handling all the paperwork, the cremation itself, and even posting the obituary on their website. It felt like a no-nonsense option for families wanting something straightforward without extra hassle.
What stood out more was their Traditional Cremation package, which combines a traditional funeral service with cremation. It includes embalming and dressing—perfect for those who want a ceremony but prefer cremation.
The funeral home itself is pretty comfortable—there’s a bright chapel and a couple of visitation rooms. There’s also a reception area with a kitchen that makes it easy to host family gatherings afterwards.
We also spoke with a few people who had used Trinity before, and they said the staff was kind and professional, which is really important when things are already tough.

Westlawn Funeral Home & Cemetery has served Edmonton families for decades, so one of our team members visited to get a clearer sense of what their cremation services are really like.
Right away, what stood out was that they handle cremations on-site. That seemed to offer some peace of mind—you know your loved one isn’t being transferred elsewhere, and everything happens in one place.
We also spoke with a couple of families who said the staff was accommodating. They also really appreciated the personalized touches—like photo displays, music, and custom urns—as they made the service feel more personal.
The space itself is thoughtfully set up. There’s a large chapel that can accommodate a large group, and they’ve both indoor and outdoor reception areas, which provides some flexibility.

Lee was a warm and comforting presence in all our interactions with him. Nicole and John were so helpful in attending to us. Right away, we noticed their wide range of cremation options—from straightforward direct cremations to more traditional services. We love that they offer families the flexibility to choose what fits their wishes and budget.
They also offer distinctive memorial choices. One option is the Neptune Memorial Reef, where ashes help form an underwater coral reef. Another is Celestis spaceflight, which launches ashes into space for a brief or lasting voyage.
A family who went with the Neptune Memorial Reef shared that it gave them peace to have a final resting place that also benefits marine life, adding a meaningful layer beyond standard memorials.
One drawback is that being part of a large network can make the experience feel somewhat standardized, which may be less personal for those seeking a smaller, more intimate service.
