The 15 Best Liquor Stores in Edmonton That Will Keep Your Spirits High (Hah)

best-liquor-stores-edmonton

Let me start this off by saying we’re dedicated researchers here at Best in Edmonton, okay? That’s why, when we decided to do a piece on the best liquor stores in Edmonton, we had to test their actual goods ourselves… like a bunch of teenagers giddy at prom.

But of course, taste-testing was just a portion of the sacrifice to make this list. We also compared prices, assessed their collections, and had casual chats with the staff.

Using all that, we came up with several that we felt stood out. From cozy mom-and-pop shops to sleek, modern emporiums, we finally found the city’s best liquor shops. And don’t worry – we curated this list after sobering up!

deVine Wines & Spirits

Website: https://devinewines.ca/

Address: 10111 104 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5J 0Z9, Canada

Contact Details: +1 780-421-9463

Operating Hours: Monday -Tuesday: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM | Wednesday – Saturday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Sunday: 12:00 AM – 6:00 PM

As you can tell from the name, this liquor store is a must-visit for wine lovers in Edmonton. We actually found a Bricca del Ucelloni here that was incredibly priced (probably the cheapest we encountered!).

Because their list is so extensive, you can probably look for a specific varietal and they’ll have at least a few options here. Your choices are also available both online and in-store so no heartaches with running out.

Even though their beer selection is a bit tame, their craft singles are still pretty good. Prices are slightly higher than most stores so we recommend only picking them up once you have that Altesino Brunello Montosoli in the bag!

Aligra Wine & Spirits

Website: https://www.aligrawineandspirits.com/

Address: 8882 170 St NW #1423, Edmonton, AB T5T 4M2, Canada

Contact Details: +1 780-483-1083

Operating Hours: Monday – Sunday: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM

When in the mood for a rare or unexpected bottle, Aligra is our go-to spot. They often have wines we can’t find elsewhere in the city. Plus, the staff always have spot-on recommendations for each client.

While the beer selection might not be as extensive as some other places, their focus on wines and quality spirits is solid. You’ll find an impressive range of wines from around the world, usually with options for those seeking something special.

Additionally, the place offers wine tastings and educational evenings. If you’re on your way to becoming a seasoned wine connoisseur, here’s a fantastic place to start (check their events page for more info!).

Sherbrooke Liquor

Website: https://sherbrookeliquor.com/contact-us/edmonton-north/

Address: 11819 St Albert Trail NW, Edmonton, AB T5L 5B5, Canada

Contact Details: +1 780-455-4556

Operating Hours: Monday – Wednesday & Sunday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM | Thursday – Saturday: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM

What’s fantastic about Sherbrooke is that they promote small hometown brewers and businesses. That’s why if you’re into something super-local, you shouldn’t skip this store!

Their selection is also hard to beat. Whether you’re on the hunt for a rare scotch or a niche wine, they have something on the shelves. Even their beer cooler is impressive, with over 500 brews to choose from.

And when it comes to unique bottle selections and the finest scotch selection, Sherbrooke is probably the go-to spot in Edmonton. Seriously, if they don’t have it, good luck finding it elsewhere!

97 Street Liquor Store

Contact Details: +1 780-473-5974

Operating Hours: Monday – Sunday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 AM

Don’t let the small size of this liquor store fool you! It’s packed with an incredible selection and fair prices that keep us coming back. The staff here are super-friendly and knowledgeable as well, so asking for recommendations is easy.

As it’s conveniently located just off 97 Street, there’s plenty of parking in the area, which makes visits hassle-free. They stay open very late as well, which is perfect for night owls or those with late shifts (guilty!).

As for their collection, we were amazed to find over 2300 items stocked in this hidden gem. From whiskey to rum and vodka, they offer great deals. In fact, some bottles are even priced as low as $20 for a 26-ounce!

121 Jasper Liquor

Website: https://www.121jasperliquor.com/

Contact Details: +1 780-453-0003

Operating Hours: Monday – Sunday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 AM

If you love finding hidden gems in Edmonton, don’t miss this place! This small store is packed with amazing choices, with so many unique (sometimes verging on oddball) items that you might not have anywhere else in Canada yet.

The store’s layout makes it easy to shop. And even though it seems pretty small on the outside, their collection is pretty massive, especially with the beers.

The locally made products here are also impressive, with prices that are reasonable per bottle. And since the store also stays open late, that’s a major plus to night owls who need quick pick-ups.

If you’re into the finer things, you’ll definitely appreciate how premium the store feels – organized, clean, and top-class. You can even find those elusive high-end liquor bottles here if you don’t mind spending thousands per item!

Since the bottles here can be expensive, they offer a taste test to all customers. And if you finally find the one for you, their friendly staff will have your bottle prepared to go.

Liquor Bay Ltd

Address: 9032 75 Street NW, Edmonton, AB T6C 2H4, Canada

Contact Details: +1 780-440-0299

Operating Hours: Monday – Saturday: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM | Sunday: 10:00 AM 12:00 AM

Liquor Bay Ltd is the type of liquor store that almost feels like home (probably because it’s a family-run business!). And because of that, the customer service here feels personalized and more friendly than average.

In fact, if you build a good relationship with them, they’ll be happy to source your favorite liquor. One of our teammates has an obscure beer as a favorite, and this store always makes sure to place an order for him.

Their staple selection is decent – not too small, not too big, though they do have a lot of local favorites. Parking is also easy here as it’s just right in front of the store.

Crown Liquor

Operating Hours: Monday – Saturday: 10:00 AM – 2:00 AM | Sunday: 10:00 AM – 12:00 AM

One of the reasons we keep coming back to Crown Liquor is their amazing variety of flavors. Two of our favorites here include their bubblegum vodka and spiced chocolate whiskey. Weird? Sure, but good.

What makes them even more special is that they have extensive unique offerings. And if you don’t want to commit to a big bottle yet, they have many single cans that you can try out.

Now if you want to give something to a fellow drink lover, we think you’ll love their gift baskets for special occasions. Choose among their many quality champagnes or any bottle from their fantastic scotch collection.

T’s Liquor

Contact Details: +1 780-488-9959

Operating Hours: Monday – Sunday: 10:00 AM – 2:00 AM

T’s Liquor has one of the best liquor delivery services in Edmonton. Out of all that we’ve tried, they’re not only the fastest but they’re also the friendliest.

One of our favorite things here is their single craft beers. We do wish they had a larger selection of craft singles, though those they have in stock are decent options.

By the way, if you fancy scoring amazing deals in liquor, you can’t miss this spot (one friend scored a Johnny Walker Red for under $30 here!). Plus, their staff-chosen six-packs are a fun way to try new beers, so we highly recommend it!

Chateau Louis Liquor Store

Website: https://www.chateaulouis.com/liquor-store

Fancy as their name sounds, don’t be fooled. You can actually find amazing deals here – in fact, some of their beers are cheaper than others in the area.

You’ll also see some rare, aged, and exotic liquors and liqueurs. For instance, their selection of whisky includes unique and hard-to-find bottles, plus other high-end offerings.

But if you’re more like us and want to save, you can try their free samples first before swiping that card. And if the exotic bottles are still too much, their selection of scotch and bourbon is just as good to take home.

If you have a taste for finer drinks, Keg n Cork is a great place to start. The place has an impressive selection of out-of-the-norm spirits and several Canadian wines from the Penticton & Oliver region.

The variety of premium drinks here is amazing, especially their scotch. Speaking of, if that’s your go-to drink, SMWS selection is top-notch. Plus, they offer a membership that’s worth it for any Scotch lover seeking something new.

For more laid-back drinks, their craft beer selection is fine as well. And, you can buy singles so you can try out different flavors without breaking the bank.

Even without the discounts though, the prices here are good. On top of that, their level of customer service is something we love. Everybody is down-to-earth and will never give you a hard time.

By the way, if you know any seniors aged 55 and above, you might want to bring them here every Monday and Tuesday. It’s because they offer 5% off on all their regular-price items for seniors on those days!

As it’s tucked off the main street, most don’t know that City Cellars offers a wide range of wines and beers. Their huge walk-in cooler is filled with beers, and you can find many items chilled and ready to enjoy right off the shelf.

Apart from beer, their wine selection is also one for the books. In particular, we love their Dubonnet and Prosecco bottles. They’re priced very competitively here.

What’s also nice is that if you’re looking for something and they don’t have it, they’ll order it for you. The staff members are always upbeat too, so you won’t feel like you’re asking for too much when giving your requests.

Vines-Riverbend Wine Merchants

Our team loves Vines-Riverbend because it offers an amazing collection as well as unique experiences. They occasionally host sommeliers and tastings too.

Just be prepared because the prices here might be a bit higher than in some places. Still, the value you get is truly top-notch. Just so you know, we’ve never had a bad recommendation here and that’s saying a lot!

Apart from wines, you’ll also find a sizable collection of spirits and craft beers here. Both of them are priced fairly, and they often give generous deals on them during sales.

Costco Liquor

Website: https://kegswineandmore.com/

Address: 7255 Winterburn Rd NW, Edmonton, AB T5T 4K2, Canada

Contact Details: +1 780-443-0724

Operating Hours: Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 8:30 PM | Saturday – Sunday: 9:00 AM- 6:00 PM

Look around Costco Liquor and you’ll definitely score some of the best prices in town. It might seem expensive at first, but when you compare prices with commercial liquor stores, it’s just about $1.85 per beer can (we did the math!).

A stand-out offering here is their Kirkland brand. We personally recommend the Kirkland Signature Vodka Francais, which is slightly comparable to Grey Goose but costs much less.

They carry a lot of popular brands for beers and spirits – we think there’s no way you won’t find your fave here. Plus, it’s really just fun to walk out with their comically big bottles!
