Transcend Coffee, known for its freshly roasted espresso creations, is a go-to destination for coffee lovers.

The Garneau location is popular among university students and can become crowded, especially during peak hours. Despite this, it maintains a cozy atmosphere – though we do recommend grabbing your headphones to filter out the noise! 

On the other hand, the Ritchie Market location offers ample parking and plenty of seating. Drop by here if you prefer a quieter environment. Both locations have free Wi-Fi that’s reliable and strong, so studying for the whole day is super possible.

Iconoclast Café has two convenient locations: one downtown and another in the trendy Oliver neighborhood. Both locations are known for their quiet vibe, with a central coffee roaster that constantly grinds fresh beans, filling the air with a pleasant aroma.

The place is great studying, but you might want to bring headphones if you prefer more privacy due to the occasional background noise. However, if you can get a spot during non-peak hours, you’re pretty much good to go. 

The café is also big on sustainability. They use compostable packaging and ethically sourced coffee beans. So, if you’re the type to support mindful cafes, then this is a fantastic choice.

Beyond this, they have an interesting menu that features locally sourced ingredients. Their muffins and cookies are quite popular treats here.

And if you ever get hungry, you can grab any of their quality food options, although we’d like to say that their naan is one of the best we’ve ever had.

Adding to its charm, The Carrot occasionally hosts live acoustic jams, providing a pleasant, ambient backdrop for those who love a little bit of white noise. The cafe also showcases local art and offers CDs from area musicians, which can help inspire creative students. 

Run by volunteers, The Carrot exudes a friendly and welcoming vibe that makes every guest feel like part of a community. We definitely recommend the place if you’re after a unique experience and manageable crowds.

Now, in terms of food, the place is best known for its chicken (would you have guessed?). From a variety of wings to hearty burgers and crispy fries, there’s something to satisfy every craving. Sodas are available as well.

Now, not all study spots have to be cafes right? Well if you prefer to concentrate more on studying without the temptation of food, The Edmonton Public Library is one of the best spots. 

The library’s spacious layout stands out immediately, with ample room for browsing and reading. The extensive collection of books is perfect for students who need to do extensive research or catch up on new material. 

There are also printing services on site which makes it convenient for all users. On top of that, they have a Second Cup kiosk where visitors can grab a quick refreshment – just make sure not to bring your drink close to the pages!

If you want to score a spot, it’s best to come here on a weekday as weekends are popular hours. Expect a sizable, but not overwhelming crowd during those times.
