“Julian tile in Edmonton is a place I highly recommend for any home tiling project; Not only is the showroom a WOW place; the staff is over and beyond. I went in a year ago feeling very overwhelmed and anxious while trying to find the perfect tiles for our new home. Rosario is someone who I would never forget, she was patient and so enthusiastic. I loved going there just to explore how she could put together a beautiful tile set up for my home; even though I had an interior designer for the new build.
Rosario seriously deserves 10 stars in my book for being patient,, enthusiastic, devoted and truly genuine.
One can see she enjoys her work and is a master of her skills” – Gagandeep Mann

If you get a chance talk to Rosario, She is commonly in the showroom. She has such great knowledge of tile and I love sending my customers to her. After being in the tile business for more than 20 years, Aaron Brown decided to put up his own company in 2011. He named this business River City Tile Company, and it now carries some of the most diverse selections of unique and custom tile designs.
This is most likely because of Brown’s background in ceramics, which first started when he was still a teenager. His family had a tile manufacturing facility where he was able to help hand-press and even paint artisan ceramics.
That experience led him to earn a title as an expert tile setter and a tile-setting magician. He was then able to specialize in high-end custom projects throughout Edmonton.
It is with this same passion that drives Brown to produce some of the unique tiles they offer in River City Tile Company. One of the specialties that this company does is large format tiles, which are pretty in-demand now.
Another thing worth noting is that they do in-person appointments as well as store-to-door appointments. They also have an online gallery of their work that you can browse for some ideas.
And let’s not forget, they are one of the few ceramic tile companies that offer installation services to their customers so you do not have to do-it-yourself. That sort of convenience can be huge: you can get your tiles and have them installed by a single provider!
Pros
- Offers virtual store to door appointments
- Offers unique and custom-made tiles
- Canadian-designed tiles
- Generally good customer service
- Able to rush courier additional tiles
Cons

Here are some reviews for the River City Tile Company:
“River City Tile was amazing! Nicole Lee helped us with our selections and created an amazing experience. She was patient, understanding and so very helpful. She wanted to make sure she understood our needs and made sure our expectation were met and so much more. The selection and staff were above expectation. The installation went very smoothly and the staff were always so professional, friendly and absolute artists in their creations. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for a spectacular selection of amazing tile and friendly, professional staff to go to River City Tile.” – Kathy Stuart
“We have had two projects completed by River City Tile, a white washed brick feature wall and a complete new tiled ensuite! We love all the work that has been done, amazing craftsmanship! We look forward to working with Aaron and the team for other future projects! Aaron is very personable and gets to know the needs of his clients to ensure that the tile selected and the install process is nothing short of excellent throughout the project! We appreciate it so much! Thanks so much Aaron and the tile teams for making our two experiences so amazing! Definitely recommend!” – GL
“Chelsea at River City Tile Company is a star – the tiles are gorgeous and unique and the customer service was WAY above and beyond. We’re delighted to have purchased tiles that are designed in Canada and buying from a Canadian store meant that Chelsea was able to rush courier additional tiles to accommodate a design change on our part in a day!” – Melissa BG
“We renovated our bathroom by having new marble tile installed around the tub, and new tile floor with a marble perimeter. River City supplied and installed the tile and did a fabulous job. We had the plumber who installed the new tub come back to our house to re-install the toilet and replace some faucet shut-off valves. When he saw the bathroom he was blown away by the quality of the workmanship. He then went to the basement to do some more plumbing work. Before he left, he politely asked “Would it be OK if I saw the bathroom one more time?” Of course we let him see it. This is a plumber who does a lot of work for Lowes and Home Depot – he sees HUNDREDS of bathrooms. But he wanted to see this bathroom ONE MORE TIME. It is because the quality of the workmanship was so outstanding. THANK YOU RIVER CITY TILE. YOU LOVE TILE AND IT SHOWS.” – A Garber
“Hands down the most knowledgeable in the city. I visited a number of showrooms before I found Aaron and Nicole. I knew I had found the right people to design and deliver my kitchen and bathroom renovations. I definitely got what I paid for. Thanks again. I love it.” – James Dennis

Tile Town proudly boasts of having 50 years of experience in selling quality tiles. In fact, they are aiming to be the tile store of choice for homeowners and business owners throughout Western Canada.
The first thing we like about them is they expressly welcome DIYers and proudly give them options on how they can redecorate their home easily. One way they do this is by offering a Visualizer feature on the platform.
Through the Visualizer feature, you can upload a photo of a room you are working on and try out some of their tile options to see the best ones that fit. It’s a really neat feature on their website that not every ceramic tile supplier offers.
But if you’re more of the traditional buyer, Tile Town still offers the services of their in-store designers. When you visit any of their stores, you can get assistance in picking out the tile option for your home.
And we loved the fact that you can take home some sample tiles to see how they look. Once you’re ready to make your order, you have the choice to pick it up in the store, have it delivered to your home, or get curbside pick-up.

Customer Reviews
Check out the reviews that previous customers had to say about Tile Town:
“I stumbled upon this place by chance actually. Building a house after covid has had its challenges and this day presented one of them. My builder had called and said the tile I ordered, for the second time, was not getting shipped from the manufacturer. I needed to find a replacement quickly. I called around to a few places when I ended up speaking with Pam #1 (I guess there are two Pam’s) and Adam. They were so helpful, offering ideas for decoration and calling their suppliers for availability. When I arrived they were very busy with shoppers in the store, deliveries. They consistently kept acknowledging me verbally to let me know they would be with me as soon as they could. They were friendly and personable. I will go back there in a second! Thanks Adam and Pam for being so supportive!” – Donna Gee
“Tile Town is a great place to shop for tiles! We have been purchasing our tiles there over the past 15 years, whenever we do renovations. The staff are consistently friendly and informative. Great service—just a great place to shop.” – Shirley Klassen
“Great Staff (Pamela and Nic) are very knowledgeable about all their products and can even answer questions about installation as the staff has experience with installation. Nic was able to call us with an approx time frame for a special order tile as some delays happen with Covid. We received a call 1 month earlier than expected. It’s great dealing with a professional business and staff that care. I’d give more than 5 stars if I could. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending them for all your tile and flooring needs.
Great experience with the staff at Tile Town. Even after purchasing supplies they provided assistance with what product(mortar) to use for which tile I was installing as we purchased floor and wall tiles for an entrance, bathroom and fireplace surround so I had forgotten which of the 3 mortars to use. 1 quick phone call and I was set straight on the correct product. Highly recommend it.” – Ryan Rasmussen
“Tile Town on 156th street in Edmonton was the third or fourth showroom I visited looking for bathroom reno options. The knowledgeable staff (Adam) quickly come up with suggestions, addressing my special needs. The order was placed and tiles arrived in a timely manner, waiting at the store for pick up by the contractor. The communication via e-mail was carried clearly and without any doubts through the entire process. Truly professional …” – Matthew Dobrski
