She didn’t just throw a treatment plan and call it a day. Dr Dolhaniuk asked real questions, like how our teammate had been sleeping and how her moods had been.
She broke it down in a way that made you realize how much your body and brain are on the same team.
One thing we really appreciated was how easy she made it to talk about stuff like birth control and sexual health. One of her patients we talked to said she’s one of the few doctors who doesn’t make those conversations feel awkward.
The only catch is that she’s super booked. So, getting a quick follow-up might take a bit. But if you’re not in a rush, she’s definitely worth it.

Dr. Justine Marilier wasn’t someone we heard much about in the beginning. But after some positive feedback, we started digging into what makes his gynecology care stand out.
What kept coming up was how thorough and patient-focused he is, especially when dealing with issues like abnormal uterine bleeding and fibroids. These are conditions that can cause both physical discomfort and emotional strain.
Patients mentioned how he takes time to talk through causes, treatment options, and how it all ties into stress and mood—something not every gynecologist does.
From what we’ve heard, this thoughtful approach extends to infertility and cancer screenings too. He’s known for being informative and supportive, which can make a huge difference during an overwhelming diagnosis.
While we weren’t able to book an undercover consultation—since appointments require a referral from another physician—we still wanted to include him for the quality of care patients consistently mentioned.

Dr. Jordanka Angelova wasn’t someone we were familiar with at first. Still, after solid recommendations from patients, one of our researchers booked a consultation to see how she approaches gynecology care.
What stood out was how direct yet kind she is. During the consultation, contraception and vaginal health were discussed thoroughly. She clearly explained how each option works, the side effects, and how they fit individual medical histories.
She didn’t push any particular option but made sure our teammate understood the pros and cons of IUDs, the pill, and implants. This made the whole conversation feel balanced and informative.
After chatting with some of her patients, we kept hearing the same thing: Dr. Angelova is not only knowledgeable but genuinely kind and dedicated to her patients.
When unexpected health concerns came up during the exam, she took the initiative to connect patients with specialists and guided them through the next steps to get timely treatment.
The only downside is her limited availability. She works just a few days a week, so booking an appointment can require some patience and planning.

“Dr. Jordanka Angelova was the Dr. who completed my medical exam when I first immigrated to Canada many years ago. I recently was able to sponsor my parents to come and live in Canada with me and my family. We were lucky enough to be able to reconnect with Dr. Angelova again and she has been helping us through this process, which has been made more difficult due to COVID. Dr. Angelova has taken every step she can to make this process smooth and efficient for us. She answers questions promptly. Gives advice and comfort when we are unsure of things. One of our researchers booked an appointment and immediately noticed how caring and thorough he was, especially when handling sensitive topics. His bedside manner really helps make open conversations easier, which matters a lot.
What truly sets him apart is his staff. We spoke with some of his regular patients, and they all praised how helpful and attentive his team is, whether you’re visiting in person or calling by phone.
We also learned that this same researcher’s aunt, who had experienced two miscarriages, was able to conceive again with Dr. LaRose’s support. He guided her through treatment and recovery every step of the way.
That said, one downside is that the clinic is based in West Edmonton, which may be less accessible for people living elsewhere in the city.

In Edmonton, if you’re lucky enough to get a referral to see Dr. Jonathan Tankel, you’re privileged. He’s highly respected in the medical field, and once you become his patient, you’ll quickly understand why.
His work spans everything from contraception counseling to managing chronic pelvic pain, and his patients consistently speak highly of the care he provides.
I tagged along with a friend during her visit, and I immediately noticed how welcoming the environment felt. His receptionist was easy to talk to—something that makes a big difference when you’re dealing with sensitive health issues.
We also spoke with one of his patients who had a high risk for PPROM and uterine rupture. She told us that Dr. Tankel took the time to sit down and go over every detail, which left her feeling completely reassured.
He even made it a point to follow up and check in on her and the baby regularly, something she really appreciated.
That said, you’ll need to be patient with the scheduling. Getting an initial referral might take a few months, and once you’re in, the wait time at his clinic can go over 45 minutes.
