The 5 Best Massages in North Edmonton That Can Make Stress Melt Away

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Range of Services: I looked for clinics that go beyond basic relaxation and offer therapeutic options such as deep tissue, hot stone, prenatal, and sports massage.

Licensed and Experienced Therapists: I prioritized places with certified massage therapists who have experience treating different needs, from stress relief to injury recovery.

Client Comfort and Atmosphere: A welcoming environment matters just as much as skill. So I considered clinics that provide clean, comfortable spaces designed for relaxation.

Reputation and Local Feedback: I checked reviews and word-of-mouth recommendations from North Edmonton residents to find spots consistently praised for professionalism and results.

Accessibility and Value: I factored in location, pricing, and availability of packages or memberships, making sure these services are convenient for people living on the north side.

One February morning, I tackled the driveway outside my place after a heavy dump of snow. By the third scoop, my arms were burning, and by the fifth, I was questioning all my life choices.

The real kicker came the next day when I couldn’t turn my neck enough to check blind spots.

Booking a massage at a clinic nearby was less of a treat and more of a rescue mission. It was the only thing that got me moving again without wincing.

If winter has you in the same boat or you’re just dealing with daily stress and aches, these massage spots across North Edmonton are worth the visit.

How much do massage services in North Edmonton cost?

Massage services in North Edmonton cost between $80 and $150 per session, depending on the type and duration. Specialty treatments may be priced higher, while shorter relaxation massages can start around 60.

1. A Touch of Thai Massage Therapy

I booked a massage at A Touch of Thai Massage Therapy after a friend kept recommending it, and honestly, I get why they’re so popular now.

The first thing that stood out was how professional the therapists are. Every single one is a Registered Massage Therapist, and it shows.

The RMT I saw really listened to what I needed and adjusted the pressure throughout, which made the session feel a lot more personalized than some of the generic massages I’ve had elsewhere.

What I really liked was how many options they have. It’s not just your typical Swedish or deep tissue. You can book a Thai massage, a hot stone, or sports therapy. Even lymphatic drainage and prenatal massages are available.

I stuck with deep tissue, but it was nice knowing I could try something different.

They’ve even opened up a second location across the street, so finding a time slot isn’t as tough, and there are way more rooms available.

The entire setup is also convenient. They’re open every day, with early mornings and later evenings, which works perfectly for people with unpredictable schedules (like me).

The only downside? Some of their therapists are so good that you have to book them in advance. I got lucky snagging an appointment last minute, but if you want your favorite RMT, it’s best to plan ahead.

Pros

  • Highly qualified & registered therapists
  • Wide variety of services
  • Two locations
  • Convenient hours & appointments
  • Free & plentiful parking
  • Direct billing with many insurance providers

Cons

  • Potential wait
  • Busy times for certain therapists

Knowledgeable therapists, accommodating service

“This is by far the best massage places I have ever been. I trust all the masseuses and have had great experiences with all! They are incredibly knowledgeable and know exactly how to work out all of my aches and pains while making me feel relaxed all at the same time. I play a contact sport so I come very frequently and it’s such a relief knowing I can always count on them right after a big game. Also a big shout out to the receptionists who are always friendly and accommodating. I was especially happy today when I came in for a massage and realized I had mistakenly booked for a different day, but they were able to accommodate me at the second location regardless on such short notice! I recommend this business to anyone looking for massage therapy!”

Professional staff, respectful service

“Fantastic place! Very kind and welcoming staff. I particularly want to applaud the receptionist, who, when a clearly intoxicated and confused person came into the business while I was filling out forms, politely informed the man they were booked, provided him a pamphlet and diffused the situation quickly and professionally. I’ve seen a lot of businesses immediately go straight to berating less fortunate people and threatening to call the police, and I very much appreciated her composed and considerate response. I also can’t recommend Zebe enough, best massage I have ever received, very good at what she does, and quiet and professional! I will certainly be back.”

The Soothing Relief Massage & Laser Clinic has been around since 2011, and you can feel the experience behind it as soon as you walk in.

It was founded by Amy Andrade, an RMT, who runs it alongside her mother. Together, they’ve built a team of skilled Registered Massage Therapists.

What struck me most during my visit was how attentive the therapists were. My session didn’t feel rushed at all. The RMT kept checking in to make sure the pressure was right and focused exactly where I needed it.

I went in with tight shoulders, and by the time I left, the tension had eased up in a way I hadn’t felt from other clinics.

Then there’s the sheer variety of treatments under one roof. You’ve got the full range of massage options like deep tissue, hot stone, and lymphatic drainage. There are also extras like laser hair removal and dermaplaning.

It feels more like a wellness hub than a massage clinic.

For what you get, the pricing feels fair; it’s the kind of place you could go back to often without it feeling like a big splurge.

The only caveat is their cancellation policy. Miss an appointment without 24 hours’ notice and you’ll be charged half the fee, with the full amount applying after that. It’s understandable since their therapists are in demand, but it’s something to keep in mind.

Pros

  • Established leadership & experience
  • Wide range of services
  • Personalized treatment
  • Clean, comfortable environment
  • Direct billing
  • Online booking
  • Free parking
  • Reasonable pricing
  • Laser & aesthetic treatments

Cons

  • Strict cancellation policy

Expert care, skilled staff

“Soothing Relief is hands down the best place for a massage in Edmonton! I’ve been a loyal client for over 10 years, and no other place comes close to the level of care and expertise they offer. The owners, Amy and Leslie, are absolutely fantastic. They genuinely take the time to address your needs, ensuring you always leave feeling far better than when you walked in. They’ve also done an amazing job hiring skilled staff who are not only professional but also know how to apply just the right amount of pressure. If you’re looking for a truly relaxing and therapeutic experience, this is the place to go!”

Warm service, calm atmosphere

“Had my first prenatal massage there with Hedia and I will definitely be back! Beyond the massage being one of the best massages I have ever had in my life, she took the time to make sure I was comfortable, found spots of tension and worked them out. Also she was not timid about massaging a pregnant woman and I appreciate that immensely, she has no idea how much she helped with my tension and stress. Both her and the receptionist were most professional yet still very warm and friendly. Lastly, the spa itself is beautiful. Extremity calming and inviting both in the waiting area and in the rooms.”

I-Ching Massage is run by Ching Wen Chen, and what stood out to me right away was her background. She completed a 3,000-hour advanced clinical massage program at Makami College and has worked in spas as well as the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald.

That kind of training and experience shows during the session. You can feel the difference in the way she works on problem areas.

She offers a wide range of massage styles, including Swedish, therapeutic, and myofascial release. That way, it’s easy to find something that fits your needs.

I booked a deep tissue massage, and Ching took her time checking in about pressure and focusing on knots that had been bothering me for weeks.

The clinic itself is home-based, set up in a townhouse. This gives the whole experience a more private and relaxed feel compared to busier commercial spas.

Even though it’s in a home, the space doesn’t feel makeshift at all. The massage room is quiet, warmly lit, and comes with thoughtful touches like hot towels and full draping. It struck a good balance between comfort and professionalism.

Booking was simple through her online system, and she accepts multiple payment methods, including direct billing for insurance.

I just wish she took walk-ins. Since it’s a home-based clinic, everything has to be by appointment, so planning ahead is the only way to go.

Pros

  • Highly trained & experienced therapist
  • Comprehensive service selection
  • Comfortable & private setting
  • Convenient booking & payment options
  • Good hours & accessibility
  • Pet-free space
  • Personalized care & client focus

Cons

  • No walk-ins

Attentive, professional massage

“I-Ching massaging was excellent and very adapted to my need. She was vas very attentive to directing the  focus on relieving the stress on the painful spots which worked out very well. She was able to cover most of the requested areas and I think she added a bit more of her time. She is very professional and she did a great job relieving the pain especially on my back. Her work place is very well designed and feels welcoming and relaxing.”

Clean, flexible, and professional service

“We found her on google randomly with only 5 star reviews and thought we would give it a try.

I had such a positive experience and would like to highlight some things.

1. Room was clean and comfortable
2. Operating hours are flexible (open late and on weekends)
3. Booking an appointment online was simple
4. She’s a wonderfully nice person and adapts well to what you want out of a massage
5. Direct billing to insurance
6. Hot towels are a nice touch (as most other places don’t offer this)”

When my dad started looking for help with arthritis-related pain, North Edmonton Chiropractic & Massage Clinic came up a lot. It’s been around since 1984, so I tried bringing him here for therapy.

What stood out was how thorough the team was. They didn’t just jump into adjustments; they tracked his progress and kept detailed notes after each visit. It felt like they were building a long-term plan rather than just reacting to the pain of the day.

Massage therapy ended up being the biggest source of relief for him. The therapist really worked into the stiffness that arthritis leaves behind, loosening up his shoulders and back so much that the chiropractic adjustments afterward were smoother.

He left those sessions moving more easily than he had in weeks, and you could tell the massage was what set the tone for that improvement.

The clinic is practical, right off 97 St NW. It’s easy to reach by bus or car, and parking’s never been a hassle.

If there’s one thing I’d change, it’s the new patient care plan. They recommended about ten sessions up front, which makes sense to properly see results, but it can feel like a big commitment in both time and cost right away.

Pros

  • Long-standing & trusted presence
  • Evidence-based & multimodal care
  • Skilled leadership
  • Clear treatment philosophy
  • Convenient location & parking
  • Flexible appointment options
  • Therapy mix

Cons

  • Care trial required

Skilled with lasting results

“I was super hesitant to find a new chiropractor after moving from BC but my back pain caught up to me and I was getting desperate. After doing some research, I finally decided to give Dr. Fitz a try as he was highly recommended by my physio and family friend. I had slipped on ice twice in one winter, messed up my back and was in severe pain.. Dr. Fitz had me all fixed and better sooner than expected. It’s been over 3 years now and he’s still as awesome as ever.. knowledgeable, professional and great sense of humour.  Plus his staff are also very friendly and accommodating. Definitely a hidden gem in a convenient location.”

Effective treatments, supportive vibe

“I met Dr Fitz when I attended a session with my friend with intentions of watching her baby while she was adjusted. Dr Fitz spent as much time talking to me as he did my friend and I instantly knew he would be able to help me. I have dealt with debilitating back and neck pain for what seems like forever…after two treatments, I was even able to shoulder check again! Now I can turn my head without fear of shooting pain, I sleep better and have less anxiety in regards to my mobility. The front desk is always warm, knowledgeable and accommodating. I drive about 30-45 minutes to see Dr.Fitz and its worth it every time. Well done!”

5. Melt Massage Boutique

Business hours:

Melt Massage Boutique is the kind of place that makes you feel relaxed before you even get on the table.

The space feels more like a little retreat than a clinic, with dim lighting, fireplaces, and those warm massage tables that make you want to melt right in. It’s got that boutique vibe that feels a step above most spots I’ve been to.

What stood out to me was the range of services. Beyond the usual Swedish or deep tissue, they offer hot stone with basalt or jade, reflexology foot massage, and even a raindrop relaxation with essential oils.

On top of that, they also offer manual osteopathic treatments, which isn’t something you see everywhere.

The therapists here are all registered and bring different specialties to the table. That meant when I booked for deeper work on my shoulders, I got paired with someone who actually focused on that style rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

Booking was straightforward too. They’re open seven days a week, and I liked getting reminders by text so I didn’t forget.

The only thing I’d point out is that because it’s a boutique-style clinic with fewer rooms, it can be tricky to get a spot. Planning ahead is definitely your best bet if you don’t want to wait.

Pros

  • Diverse & certified therapists
  • Luxurious, comfortable setting
  • Convenience in scheduling & access
  • Extras & amenities
  • Variety of massage modalities

Cons

  • Boutique scale

Welcoming spa with excellent staff

“Melt Massage is the ABSOLUTE BEST! I’ve had hundreds of massages over the past two decades, probably from over a dozen different RMT’s, and this place is just the best! It is impeccably clean and has a warm and welcoming design. I love the different and changing decorations (like xmas decorations) that are put up to make it feel cozy. The rooms are very modern and all of the girls who work here are fantastic, including the staff at the front. I literally can’t think of anything bad to say. I guess the only negative is how far in advance you have to book (often a month or longer) but that’s just because of how good it is. A special shout out to Jennifer who has really helped me the last few months and is awesome! Highly recommended.”

Skilled therapist with standout facilities

“Just got out of my second massage with Natalie and I’m feeling a huge improvement already. She gives a fantastic, professional massage and she’s open to incorporating feedback which I really appreciate.

I think what puts Melt into 5 stars territory for me is the atmosphere. Some people might not mind smaller rooms or outdated decor, but for me that’s the norm not the exception. There’s simply not much you can do in one of these strip mall massage studios. However Melt has beautiful, spacious rooms with nice seating and plenty of counter space. It’s a small difference that makes a big improvement to my overall experience.

I would definitely recommend this place to friends who are interested in getting some massage therapy. 💆‍♂️”
