Springhill Community Preschool is one of the older schools around Edmonton. This kindergarten has been around for 40 years and offers learning through play, and often encourages parents to be involved within the early formative years of their children.
Within their facilities they have arts and crafts, books and puzzles, music and dress-up costumes, a playhouse, toys and theme activities, and a water and sand table. They also have material that improves the motor skills of children.
They offer classes for children as young as two years old. With great programs and a parent-run cooperative, this remains one of the best kindergartens in Edmonton.

Rainbow Daycare has offered good childcare since 1989. They have many scheds for children of Pre-K ages.
From summer field trips to children-lead projects, they create an atmosphere that develops their students’ skills, whether it’s in writing, creativity, or more. Their biggest focus is exploration and discovery.

I’ve been with rainbow daycare since I was in third grade until the end of fifth grade, and this place has been nothing but enjoyment. Rainbow Daycare have been amazing to us. The educators and staff are very genuine and down to earth, and sincerely care about the well-being of the children in their facility. You can tell that they really love their jobs and truly care, and it shows by how they interact with the children. All of the staff are friendly and knew my child by name (even if they were not involved with his care). They provided fun activities such as Sprinkler Day, Halloween Costume Parade, Pancake Breakfast Day (Santa even came and brought gifts!); brought in services such as fluoride brushing; and also send out informative and educational emails to encourage child development fairly regularly.
We unfortunately had to leave Rainbow Daycare due to a change in our childcare needs; however, would love to return to Rainbow Daycare (and will at our next available opportunity). I would highly recommend Rainbow Daycare to anyone in the Mill Woods area.

Kalyna Kids started as St. Martin Ukrainian Multilingual Playschool Society and was founded in 1982 to give a Ukrainian bilingual experience in a playschool setting. In 2016, they expanded their curriculum to include an after-school component in order to provide this similar program to children of different ages. Their name was changed to Kalyna Kids Society at this time.
Kalyna Kids, located in St. Martin School in south Edmonton, provides a unique combination of cultural, play, and faith-based learning programs for children ages 2.7 to Grade 6.
