thai-massages-in-edmonton
We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.
  • Experience: We chose trusted spas with years of experience in offering traditional Thai massage. We preferred therapists who know how to do deep stretching, acupressure, and rhythmic pressing.
  • Location: We picked spas with convenient locations, perfect for those busy individuals looking for a Thai massage after their work without travelling too far.
  • Environment: We prioritised those with a welcoming and clean environment that really promotes relaxation.
  • Pricing: We prefer spas with reasonable and transparent pricing when it comes to their Thai massage and other services.

Lately, I’ve been feeling a lot of muscle tension. I can feel it particularly on my right shoulders. I’m sure it’s because of my office work, as I tend to sit for long hours.

A co-worker noticed my complaints and suggested I try Thai Massage. I admitted I didn’t know any spas, so he helped me track down some of the best Thai massage spas in Edmonton.

After researching and asking around, we’ve managed to put together a list of wellness centres offering authentic and relaxing Thai massage. It’s mainly our go-to list for when we need to unwind, but anyone looking for a quality massage can also benefit from it.

Check out the list below and find your next spot to relax and recharge!

How much is a Thai massage in Edmonton?

A 60-minute Thai massage typically costs from $70 to $100. If you prefer longer sessions or add-on services, it can change the overall pricing. Some spas offer packages that offer great value for your money.

Birds’ Thai Massage is a well-established massage spa owned by Rujapa. It’s a plus for us that it’s owned by a Thai with over 30 years of experience as a certified registered massage therapist.

Before building her own massage spa, Rujapa worked in different wellness centres in Thailand, Fort McMurray, and Calgary. We believe that her experience has honed her skills and a personalised approach to her clients.

Also, it’s worth mentioning that Bird’s Thai Massage have two branches now. One in Downtown and another in Southeast. That made relaxation and wellness more accessible to people.

They offer deep tissue massage, shiatsu massage, and traditional Thai oil massage. Not all wellness centres offer authentic Thai massage, so knowing Rujapa is from Thailand gives us confidence in the authenticity of this treatment.

Clients we talked to also praised Rujapa’s team for being accommodating and friendly. Many said that everyone makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in.

Pricing is reasonable too, with a 45-minute Thai oil massage at $105.

The only drawback we noticed is that some clients had issues with certain services, like hot stone massage being too hot. That said, their Thai massage remains highly praised.

Pros

  • Highly experienced owner
  • Authentic Thai expertise
  • Multiple locations
  • Great variety of services
  • Friendly staff
  • Fair pricing
  • Welcoming environment
  • Good parking space
  • Has an online booking system

Cons

  • Hot stone can be too hot

Incredible experience

“I had an incredible experience at Bird’s Thai Massage in Edmonton (Unit #203, second floor of 10235 124 street). Bird, the lovely and sweet lady who owns the place, personally performed my Thai massage, and it was absolutely amazing! She was so kind, and the entire staff was super friendly, creating a warm and welcoming vibe. Highly recommend this place for a top-notch massage experience in downtown Edmonton!”

Superb experience

“This my 1st time having Thai Massage w/ cupping and the experience is superb and exceeded my expectation.  Yu is very professional and she exactly knows how to deal with and manage my backaches.  She has focus and will let you relax; you can tell she is a well-experienced therapist.  The atmosphere is very serene, and the place is full of aromatherapy.  And I will be booking my next session right away!”

A Touch of Thai Massage Therapy was founded in 2016 and has two branches in Edmonton. It’s composed of a group of Registered Massage Therapists with years of experience in massage therapy.

One thing we appreciate is that they plenty of massage therapists available. That means they can accept more clients who are in need of a massage.

Also, they have a comprehensive list of services that spans from hot stone to sports therapy. They also have prenatal massage and student massages (40% off). We’re very impressed with how they cater to different needs and target audiences.

We also like their Thai massage variety. They have basic Thai massage, Thai stem, and Thai oil massages. If you don’t know what to pick, you can freely ask for their recommended massage, depending on what they think your body needs.

One last thing that stood out to us is that they accept insurance or benefits coverage. So as long as your insurance provider covers massage treatment, it’ll be no problem for them.

However, note that they charge a bit higher compared to other wellness centres. For instance, their 60-minute traditional Thai massage costs $120.75.

Pros

  • Experienced team
  • Has two branches
  • Large team
  • Diverse services available
  • Thai massage variety
  • Insurance friendly
  • Has online booking for convenience

Cons

  • Higher pricing

For their therapies, they have deep tissue massage, cupping therapy, and Thai herbal hot compress massage.

Their Thai massage costs $125 for a 60-minute session, which is admittedly expensive. However, many clients we talked to noted that the quality of the massage is well worth the price.

Clients also praise their therapists like Parveen, who knows how to put the right amount of pressure. Some also say that the reception staff is super friendly, which made the whole experience even better.

When we visited, we were very happy with the centre itself. It’s clean, calming, and welcoming.

Just make sure that once you book your appointment here, you come as early as possible. It’s because if you’re late, you’ll not receive the full session time. This is a bit frustrating, but we respect and understand their policy on late arrivals.

  • Wide range of treatments
  • Clean and calming environment
  • Skilled therapists

Chiang Mai Thai Massage & Wellness has two branches in Edmonton and offers a wide range of massage services, from deep tissue to reflexology.

We like that their offerings go beyond basic Thai massage. They have Thai hot steam massage and Thai oil massage.

We also find their traditional Thai massage affordable (priced at $105 for a 45-minute session). We also like that you can add cupping to their oil massage for just $10.

Clients love therapist Patty, especially for Thai massage. Since she’s from Northern Thailand, her massages feel authentic, which we think adds value to the experience.

Clients also love that their therapists respect schedules. One client mentioned that her session started and ended exactly on time, which we appreciate since it ensures you get the full appointment you pay for.

If there’s an improvement we didn’t like, it’s the clinic’s location. It’s located upstairs, which can be challenging for people in pain or with mobility issues. For instance, a client said climbing the stairs isn’t doable for her due to her injured knee.

Pros

  • Two branches in Edmonton
  • Wide variety of massage services
  • Affordable pricing
  • Skilled therapists
  • Respect client schedules
  • Online booking available

Cons

  • Clinic accessibility is an issue
  • Only focused on massages

Highly recommended therapist

“Patty is the best. I had muscle tension on my left arm, where my grip was weak & slow movement compared to my right arm. After the massage from Patty my arm gets better, I highly recommend Patty for being the best therapist. I felt alive again after my massage, felt like a new person.”

-Ms. Monique Guevarra, Google Review

Very friendly environment

“Been a client of Chiang Mai Thai Massage for years, and I would say that the moment you walk in, they make you feel welcome and at ease. Very friendly environment.

My therapist, Patty has a clear understanding of the human body and was able to target all of my trouble areas with ease. The pressure was perfect, and I felt completely relaxed and comfortable throughout the entire session. She always listens to my concerns and tailors the massage to my specific needs. Thank you, Patty, for always providing an incredible massage. Highly recommend Patty and the clinic.”

Soul2Sole Massage & Wellness Clinic is an Edmonton-owned massage clinic with more than 10 branches in Edmonton and St. Albert. We think the number of branches shows their success and reliability in the industry.

What we like about this clinic is that they aren’t just limited to massages. They also have acupuncture and physiotherapy. That means they can help more clients, ranging from athletes to individuals looking for stress relief.

For their massage services, they have craniosacral therapy, prenatal massage, and Thai massage. You can also opt for a Thai hot compress massage or oil massage, depending on your preference.

What surprised us is that their 45-minute traditional Thai Massage only costs $95. It’s pretty affordable, to be honest. For a 60-minute massage, it costs $115 (the price of a 45-minute session at other clinics).

They also offer gift certificates for convenience in case you want to send one to someone. In fact, a client said that she got the gift card from her friend and went to the clinic. She enjoyed the good hand pressure and nice communication of her therapist.

However, some clients complained about substitutions of services. For example, a client booked a stem massage therapy, but the therapist ended up giving a cupping session.

Pros

  • Lots of branches
  • Offers more than just massage
  • Wide variety of massage therapy
  • Affordable pricing
  • Gift certificates available
  • Skilled and friendly therapists
  • Accepts insurance coverage

Cons

  • Service substitutions without prior notice

Wonderful experience

“I had an oil thai massage, with therapist Nicole, it was wonderful, the massage effectively relieved my muscle tension. I highly recommend.”

-Ms. Yeth Miguel, Google Review

Amazing staff

“I’ve been going to Soul 2 Sole since Jel opened her first location in Millwoods many years ago. I’ve moved 3 hrs from Edmonton and still come back for a massage as often as I’m able. With the herbal steam bath and a 90min Thai massage you can never go wrong. Direct billing, amazing staff and RMTs. Cannot say how much I love my time there and how happy I am to see the business grow!”

-Mr. Kelsey Dokis-Jansen, Google Review
