We recently arranged an undercover consultation at Envision Mind Care to find out more about what they do. The clinic is massive. They also have a psychiatry team, psychologists, and therapists, so they clearly take a well-rounded approach to mental well-being.
During the consultation, one of our team members met with a therapist who was not only professional but also genuinely compassionate. They asked thoughtful, open-ended questions to better understand the concerns and explained their approach clearly.
We appreciate that the therapist went out of their way to provide a comfortable and friendly setting, which is essential for anyone sharing about mental health issues.
What really stood out to us was their psychedelic-assisted therapy. This is done with a low, regulated amount of drugs (like ketamine) combined with therapy sessions to assist patients in navigating deep trauma and emotional obstacles.
While there can be varying opinions about this approach due to the use of drugs, we can recognize the clinic’s dedication to offering a new way to heal patients who haven’t had success with traditional therapies.
Some patients, though, did mention difficulties with getting appointments for follow-up visits, something that could be infuriating for anyone seeking regular care.+
Exceptional care with comprehensive mental health services
“I see Dr. Ganapathy for psychiatry, he’s very intelligent and caring. I’ve been with envision for a few months now. The office is so nice it’s like being inside of a palace, the staff are very friendly, and there’s a lot of treatments offered here. I’ve had all good experiences here. I do the ketamine treatments and TMS here, as well as getting my medications reworked a bit, and have been feeling so much better over time. I got a diagnosis here that was missed by previous mental health professionals which has helped me immensely because I’m able to treat it and no longer struggle to concentrate, I feel less irritable, no longer have anger issues, and my issues with depression and anxiety have gotten significantly better. This is the place to go if in need of mental health treatment. Envision offers more than just psychiatry, I believe all mental health services and even dieticians. All of the staff are very smart and professional, and Dr. Ganapathy is the best psychiatrist I’ve ever had.”

Chokka Center for Integrative Health made it to our list for its focus on holistic treatments like positive psychology and mindfulness. These therapies are beneficial in handling stress, anxiety, and depression and target overall well-being.
Aside from their integrative therapies, they offer patient-focused care. Their clinicians take time to understand each person’s needs, making care plans both personalized and adaptable.
We were especially intrigued by their 360° Consultation, which covers mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health. It starts with a detailed intake and a one-on-one session, followed by a tailored care plan that may include therapy or mindfulness practices.
We love that this holistic approach really helps ensure patients receive personalized support across all areas of their well-being rather than just addressing isolated symptoms.
We also liked that they offer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) for depression and OCD. It’s a pain-free treatment using magnetic pulses that focus on areas of the brain associated with mood control. Not all clinics have this newer option, so that’s a definite plus.
What didn’t sit well with us is that many of their services, including TMS and holistic therapies, aren’t covered by standard insurance, meaning clients may need to pay out of pocket.
Comfortable and private environment
“The prescreening process they use was by far the best part of my experience. Being able to answer the different and difficult questions that can be personal or embarrassing to answer in front of anyone( especially someone Im meeting for thr first time) can be challenging.
But this office helped eliminate any of those fears.”

Life-changing results with subtle yet effective medication
“Dr. Pratap Nailed it with me. I feel so good and amazing. I’m on my first day of ADHD meds and life has never felt this easy. I was scared going on meds for fear of them changing me. But the ones I am on feel so subtle yet they are doing a lot. I can direct my focus where I want. I feel mentally better and physically. My body works together better. I feel less anxious and more confident. I have more patience. My grief is lighter. I find it easier to let things go. This is life-changing for me. So thank you all.”

CMHA Edmonton has been around since 1954, and it’s clear they’ve built a solid foundation for supporting mental health. They offer a 24/7 distress line and online chat service for people in crisis, which is a huge help.
They also offer family and individual counseling and therapy for anxiety, depression, and trauma. They provide tailored care plans that make support more accessible to those in need.
What impressed us about CMHA is its dedicated support line for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, giving people a safe and confidential space to reach out when needed.
The education programs, like Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and Mental Health First Aid, also stood out. These courses help equip people with the tools to support others facing mental health challenges, which we think is really important in the community.
However, one drawback we noted is the long wait times for accessing mental health services, which can be frustrating for those in urgent need of support.
Compassionate team
“Group of individuals who genuinely care for everyone especially those in crisis or distress.”
- Geraldine B., Google Review
Has invaluable course that improves support and connection with others
“Had the opportunity to participate in ASIST course on suicide first aid with the Canadian Mental Health Association. A fantastic course that everyone should take on improving how we connect and support the people around us.”

4. Neuromed Clinic

ADDRESS | 2532 Ellwood Dr SW |
CONTACT DETAILS | (587) 860-1880 |
OPERATING HOURS | Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday: Closed |
What impressed us about Neuromed Clinic is their non-invasive treatments like Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) for depression and anxiety and Magnetic e-resonance Therapy (MeRT), which combines EEG diagnostics with TMS to treat PTSD and traumatic brain injury.
During our undercover consultation, we saw how personalized their treatments are. The clinic collaborates with each patient to adapt the therapy to their particular needs.
One patient we spoke to mentioned she didn’t think she’d ever return to work again. However, after undergoing treatment at Neuromed, she was able to get back on her feet without needing medication anymore.
We also love that they offer newer treatments like ketamine-assisted therapy, which is used to rapidly increase certain brain chemicals to help reduce depression symptoms.
The therapy can create new neural connections and help patients feel relief faster than traditional antidepressants.
However, while the clinic is doing some great things, it’s still relatively new. It doesn’t have a long track record that proves just how effective their treatments are.
Positive treatment results
“I’m very happy to have found this clinic. I’ve suffered with depression most of my life. I’ve been on every medication possible with some relief but never really better. I started the treatment with a score of 41 on the depression intake, which is severe. At the end of my 30 treatments, I’m now scoring a 16, which is mild. Claire and Matt are very positive and make you feel comfortable and supported.. I’m feeling really good for the first time in years. I’ve noticed small changes like a more positive outlook, feeling hopeful and excited for my future, laughing more and being more engaged and social with people. I actually want to do things. I even have more motivation and my interest in things is coming back. Overall very positive experience and I recommend this treatment, especially for people like me with a diagnosis severe clinical treatment resistant depression.”
- Jennifer David, Google Review
Exceptional care, with knowledgeable staff
“Neuromed is an amazing place to get high quality care. Claire is knowledgeable and extremely accommodating and Matt is a fantastic technician. No matter how I feel coming in, I always leave feeling relaxed. I like that the clinic is following the most up to date protocols and yet are accommodating to people’s schedules and needs. With their help, my depression has been in remission for over a year and ongoing maintenance keeps it that way. I cannot recommend this place enough. 10 stars! Sonya S.”

OPERATING HOURS | Monday to Sunday: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM |
We like that Wholesome Psychology didn’t come off as overly clinical. Instead of the usual sterile setup, the space felt warm and thoughtfully designed—with cozy furniture, soft lighting, and subtle décor that made it feel more like a homey lounge than a mental health office.
They’ve got a solid range of services for couples and family counseling. We also appreciate that they work with kids and teens, offering approaches like play therapy for younger children and age-appropriate CBT for adolescents, which can be hard to find elsewhere.
One parent we spoke to shared how their teenager had been struggling with anxiety for years, and after starting therapy at Wholesome Psychology, things finally began to shift. Their child felt the therapist really listened and offered support from day one, without judgment.
The only downside is that some of the more popular therapists at Wholesome Psychology can be hard to book. If you have someone specific in mind, you might have to wait a bit to get in.
Life-changing therapy
“I’ve been seeing Bryan Halabi since 2022 and I feel that under his guidance I was able to confront and explore, safely, what is needed to keep me moving forward. We used EMDR which is something that really changed my life! Grateful for his support and I would suggest him to anyone.”

Excellent service and support
“I have only had 2 meetings with Chris. To say that my expectations have been exceeded is an understatement. I have had nothing but great experiences with Wholesome Psychology both with Bryan who helped me select a counsellor and Ashley who set up my bookings and confimations. Chris accepted me as a new client and I can’t rave enough about him. His attentive listening and understanding has been superior to other therapists I have seen in the past. He feels to me like an old friend, though he isn’t old lol. Just talking through my past and present, future plans with him has been therapeutic and I Ieave feeling hopeful and refreshed. I highly recommend Wholesome Psychology!”
