You know the feeling—you’re craving Spanish food and excited to try something new, but you end up with underwhelming paella and sangria that might as well be fruit punch.
It’s common, especially in a city where great Spanish cuisine can be hard to find.
The good news? Edmonton does have its gems. While Spanish food isn’t exactly a dime a dozen in this city, there are a few restaurants that absolutely nail it. Smoky, rich flavors, perfectly crisp croquettes, and a vibe that makes you want to stay for hours.
Whether you’re planning a date night or just want a break from chain restaurant menus—this list has your next great meal covered.
How much does the food at Spanish restaurants in Edmonton cost?
The cost of food at Spanish restaurants in Edmonton typically ranges from $10 to $40 per dish, depending on the restaurant and the dish you choose. For a full meal with drinks, expect to spend anywhere from $30 to $70 per person, depending on your selection.

I visited Bodega Highlands not too long ago, and I really liked how tucked-away and cozy it felt. The space is small but inviting—like a low-key dinner spot you’d want to keep yourself.
The staff were friendly without being too much, and one of them helped me pick a wine that pairs really well with the tapas I ordered.
I tried their patatas bravas—I can’t remember the last time I had them crispy. The bacon-wrapped dates were a nice surprise, and the braised boar cheeks? They definitely stood out without being too rich. It all felt like comfort food with a bit of flair, but nothing too excessive.
One customer at the table next to me mentioned that the flavors were well-balanced without being too rich, especially with the patatas bravas, and I definitely share the same sentiments.
The only downside for me was the parking. It’s in a residential area, so I had to circle the block a couple of times before finding a spot.
Exceptional service with perfectly curated food and wine
“I had one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I’ve ever had at Bodega. This is all credited towards our server, Tristan, who provided an exceptional experience. We picked a bottle of wine and then he curated our plates for the rest of the evening based on the wine and how the palette would best suit it. The food and wine were perfection. I can’t wait to go back!”

Incredible food, standout service, and a personalized wine experience
“At a young age I’ve been exposed to “fine dining” I’ve experienced so many wonderful restaurants around the world. And this restaurant was in my top 5 best restaurants I’ve been to, the food was amazing, but what really set this place apart was the the atmosphere and the absolute top notch service. I’m extremely picky when it comes to food and wine, and this place really blew me away. We ordered 6 plates and all where amazing. My favorite was the pripri shrimp, the pork belly was slightly over done but very well seasoned and sauce was amazing. Everything else was literally bites of heaven. Tristan our sever/wine man somehow know what I wanted interns of wine and BLEW me away. I hate ordering bottles of wine at restaurants because I’m always disappointed, but this guy somehow understood what I wanted and NAILED it. I HIGHLY recommend this place. It felt like I went to my friends house for dinner and I cooked (cause I can COOK).”

Bodega 124th Street really impressed me with its small patio out back—it’s a cozy spot that feels like a hidden escape, especially on a warm evening.
One of the highlights for me was their bacon-wrapped dates with manchego—sweet, salty, and downright satisfying. I also loved the boar cheeks braised in red wine; they were super tender with a deep, slow-cooked flavor that didn’t feel too heavy.
Their Spanish-style chorizo is also a must-try! It was so smoky and had a good balance of spice. It complemented the olives and warm bread they served on the side perfectly.
Aside from the food, what also caught my attention were their weekly specials: Tapas Tuesdays (3 chef’s choice tapas with every bottle of wine), Wine Wednesdays (half-price wines), and “8 for $88 Thursdays” (8 feature tapas and a bottle of wine).
I’m just disappointed with the portion sizes. They were smaller than expected, especially considering the price.
Authentic, delicious food with a welcoming atmosphere
“We came here via recommendation and we were not disappointed ! The food is authentic and delicious. We ordered the pupusas, and wow the portions are perfect. The atmosphere is very homey and warm and The staff is friendly. The restaurant is spacious and very clean and well kept. We look forward to coming back to trying the rest of the menu !”

A hidden gem with delicious food and great value
“Hidden gem, and one of our favourites. We’ve been coming here for years!! Extremely reasonably priced, quality ingredients, and the food is cooked with love. Small local restaurant and sometimes a one-woman show. Limited hours, and door is sometimes locked for safety purposes. Knock, and be patient for her to come to the door.
The breakfast plate and pupusas are mouth watering and our go-to’s.”

If you and your partner haven’t checked out Tzin Wine & Tapas in Edmonton yet, you’re missing out on a hidden gem. It’s a cozy spot with deep red walls that create a warm, intimate vibe that’s perfect for a date.
Every dish I tried was just what I wanted. The patatas bravas were crispy and topped with a spicy aioli that had just the right amount of kick.
I also had their Paella — the saffron-marinated scallops and BC rockfish brought a nice balance to the dish.
The staff here really makes the experience stand out. They’re super friendly and knowledgeable. I loved how they took the time to explain what’s in each dish and what flavors to expect. This really helps a lot for those who aren’t familiar with some Spanish dishes.
What I love most about Tzin Win & Tapas, though, is the ‘Feed Me’ option. The chef creates a surprise multi-course meal for you, which I personally think makes the whole experience more exciting. And as someone indecisive, I love that an expert is willing to make the choice for me.
One drawback, though, is that the space is small. Reservations are necessary, especially on weekends.
Amazing food and great value
“My family and I shared a wonderful meal and experience at Tzin. Excellent food and wine choices. We let the chef decide on the food for us with the “feed me” option. Amazing. I personally thought flat iron steak with salted caramel was the best, my daughters and wife thought the gnocchi, artic char and bacon, respectively, was the best. Obviously everything was excellent. Over the top excellent.
The bill was $120 pp for food, beverage and tip. Excellent value for the amazing food and experience.”

Exceptional food and service
“We had an excellent experience at Tzin. Truly some of the best food we’ve ever had. We went for the Feed Me option and were so impressed with every dish – it was almost impossible to pick a least favorite. The staff was attentive, friendly, and very passionate about delivering a top notch experience for every guest. They were knowledgeable about the food & wine and suggested a great bottle for us when we couldn’t decide. Honestly a 10/10 dining experience and great for special occasions! Definitely will be coming back.”

If my friends and I are craving something different, Sabor is our go-to, especially for their delicious Spanish dishes. We were there just last week, and while the food is the main draw, the cozy atmosphere still feels special enough for a night out.
One thing we appreciate is that Sabor is Ocean Wise certified, meaning their seafood is sustainably sourced. It’s a small detail, but a reassuring one — especially since seafood is a big part of their menu.
We started with the seafood paella, and honestly, we’re still talking about it. The shrimp, scallops, and mussels were cooked just right, and the saffron-infused rice really brought everything together. It was one of those dishes where we just kept going back for more.
We also tried the grilled octopus, which I wasn’t sure about at first (I’m picky with octopus!), but it was surprisingly tender and flavorful. The black olive tapenade on the side really made it stand out.
Their cocktails are also solid. I had a gin-based one, and it hit the spot — just the right amount of flavor and not too strong.
It’s a bit pricey, but for the quality of everything, it’s well worth it.
Delicious food, great for families
“Amazing food. Seafood Paella was really fresh. Chicken chorizo paella was awesome too. We had a fantastic family dinner here. Very kid friendly! Waiter brought our little one berries and whip cream and he was delighted!
Edit: we returned a few weeks ago when we were back in the city. Food is still delicious as always”

Outstanding food, great service
“Loved every minute! Went for my birthday dinner just me and my husband November 15. The place itself is very beautiful but the food is hands down the best we’ve had. We started with the octopus and bread with the pate. Never have we had such tender octopus and the black olive tapenade complimented it beautifully. Husband had the spinalis steak 😋 freaking amazing!!! I throughly enjoyed the seafood paella. Service was also terrific. Gave perfect wine pairing and wasn’t overly intrusive. Was a perfect evening. Thank you we will be back”

Bodega Ellerslie is a cozy spot on the south side of Edmonton, with a welcoming atmosphere that’s perfect for a family meal.
We ordered a variety of small plates, and each one impressed us. The braised beef cheeks were tender and rich, with a deep, savory flavor that didn’t feel too heavy. The cod fritters were crispy on the outside, giving way to soft, flaky fish inside.
The charcuterie board was another hit, loaded with a variety of meats and cheeses that offered a great combination of salty and savory flavors.
One of the things I really appreciated was their Seafood Sunday special — it included a few tapas, a main course, and dessert for $40 per person. It felt like a solid deal for the amount of food we got.
The only downside was that the tables were quite small. Once our food and drinks arrived, there wasn’t much space left for anything else, which made it a bit cramped.
Great spot for quality Spanish cuisine
“Small local chain in Edmonton that specializes in Spanish/Portuguese cuisine. Stuffed bacon wrapped dates were a favorite and the shrimp tapas didn’t disappoint. Seafood paella had good flavor and was just a smidge overcooked but flavor profiles were great. Great date or special occasion or just a night out for quality food. Highly recommend”

Perfect for sharing and exploring authentic flavors
“The tapas style dishes make everything perfect for sharing! Lots of choices on the menu and everything tastes pretty authentic. The lobster risotto is really tasty and there are different spreads you can put on their baguettes. Scallops and prawns are delicious! I need to come back and try the rest of the menu!!!”
