Shopping for carpet in Edmonton sometimes feels like a choose-your-own confusion adventure—endless swatches, unfamiliar terms and fabric names, and crazy prices.
One minute you’re sure about beige, the next you’re debating between “taupe” and “warm sand” (whatever those mean) because the salesperson swears by them.
After experiencing that myself and walking out of carpet stores feeling overwhelmed, I knew something had to change. So when my sister moved into her apartment and needed help choosing a carpet, I took it as a chance to finally crack the code.
I visited multiple stores, talked to other homeowners, and compared options to figure out which places actually make carpet shopping easier. Here’s what I found—the best carpet stores in Edmonton.
How much does it cost to buy carpet in Edmonton?
Carpet prices in Edmonton typically range from $2 to $10 per square foot, depending on the material and quality. For a standard-sized room, you might expect to pay between $500 and $3,000 including installation.

Ashley Fine Floors made it to my list for their carpet selection—they’ve got everything from soft, comfy styles to more durable ones that make sense if you’ve got pets or kids.
After hearing from a few past customers that they had a smooth experience, I decided to visit the showroom myself to see what it’s actually like.
What impressed me was how relaxed the process was—no sales pressure. I mentioned needing durable carpet for my dog, and they quickly showed me pet-friendly options with simple care tips.
Beyond carpets, they offer quite a bit—luxury vinyl, hardwood, and cork. One of my friends used them for a small reno and said the installers were quick but detailed, which isn’t always the case with flooring companies.
They also handle commercial spaces, so bigger projects aren’t new to them either.
The only drawback is that the showroom feels a bit outdated. While the samples are good, some areas look like they haven’t been updated in years. It didn’t affect the service, but a refresh would definitely help.
Great selection and easy process
“We were impressed with Ashley floors. The selection process with Jake was easy and accommodating. We liked how many options Ashley Flooring had. The installation was completed way ahead of schedule, and Les and his team were so nice and helpful. Our new floors are beautiful and we love them.”

When I was checking out carpet options in Edmonton, a few local friends told me to check out Divine Flooring. I decided to stop by and see what they actually had, and honestly, I was pretty impressed.
What stood out to me was how easygoing and helpful the team was. They didn’t try to rush me or push anything—I felt like they genuinely wanted to help me figure out what carpet would work best for my busy household.
One of their past customers I spoke with said they had a good experience upgrading their carpet there. Scheduling and installation went smoothly, and the team was organized and ready for everything.
Their carpet selection was pretty solid—everything from soft, cozy options that would feel great in a living room to tougher, stain-resistant ones.
They also carry other flooring types like hardwood, laminate, and tile. It’s a convenient store if you want to shop for different materials all in one spot.
The only downside is that their showroom feels a bit cramped, so it can be tricky to get a full sense of their whole selection when you visit.
Punctual, friendly, and great service
“Very happy with service for our project. They came in time delivered everything they promised. Friendly ,high work ethic, clean and fast.Jennifer went far and beyond to make us happy for any thing we asked. Thank you to installation team for what you delivered. I tagged along when a friend was looking for new carpet options, and we checked out Carpetlayers Supplies in Edmonton.
What stood out to me was their focus on carpet materials and tools rather than a traditional showroom experience. It’s clear they’re more about supplying quality products and accessories for professionals and serious DIYers.
They carry a solid range of carpet types, from plush residential options to tougher commercial-grade carpets. I also noticed they offer installation supplies and equipment, which makes sense if you’re doing a big project or want everything in one place.
The staff was knowledgeable when we asked questions, especially about the technical side of carpets and installation.
While we were there, one customer we bumped into chimed in—she said she’s been coming here for years and swears by the quality and how long the products last.
That said, the store isn’t great for casual shoppers wanting to browse many carpet samples. It’s more for those who know what they want or need detailed help with installation, which might not suit everyone.
Knowledgeable, helpful, and budget-friendly
“We are renovating an old general store and were referred to Carpetlayers by one of our contractors. Becuase of their incredible knowledge, they have become our one-stop-shop for everything we need. They are so helpful to explain what you need to do with their products, offer tips and techniques to try and have great pricing and customer service. I am referring everyone I know doing a reno or project to them, cant recommend enough!”
- Julie-Ann McNeilly, Google Review
Fast, knowledgeable service
“When I got myself into a jam needing to resolve how to handle a transition from tile to carpet with an inch gap the folks here supplied all I needed. Very fast, effective, and well organized.”

The Carpet Studio Inc. in Edmonton has been around since 1987. It has now grown into a team of over 100 people, so I figured they’d know their stuff—and they didn’t disappoint.
They handle everything from small home projects to big commercial jobs like hospitals and high-rises, which made me feel more confident in their experience.
What stood out to me was that they offer in-house financing for residential clients. A customer who took advantage of it said it made the whole purchase a lot more manageable. Plus, she didn’t have to compromise on the quality she wanted.
While I was there, I chatted with another customer who had worked with them on an insurance claim. She said the process went smoothly and appreciated how professional and communicative the team was throughout.
That said, if you’re after a super personal or small-scale vibe, The Carpet Studio might come off as a bit too big and business-like.
Standout customer service
“Our installer Michael was absolutely amazing top-notch professional job, dealing with Chris Nurse our sales associate was also one of the best experiences we’ve had in retail. Our carpet turned out amazing and will recommend to anyone.”
- FINGAZ, Google Review

I went along with a friend when she was searching for new carpeting, and we wound up at Monarch Floors 1953 Inc.
What stood out to me was their attentive approach. They took the time to learn the needs of each individual space, considering traffic flow and appearance.
They carry Canadian brands like Beaulieu Canada and Beckham Brothers, which gave us some solid choices in both looks and durability.
The team was friendly and patient, answering all our questions without rushing. I also like that they offer both in-store and in-home consultations—it really helped us picture how the carpet would look in the actual space.
One customer we talked to mentioned they’ve been loyal to Monarch Floors for years because of their consistent quality and reliable installations.
That said, their prices leaned a bit higher than some of the other options we looked at, which might make more budget-conscious buyers hesitate.
Helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly
“Had a wonderful experience working with everyone at monarch. They did an amazing job helping us pick out everything from hardwood and backsplash to the tile and carpet for the bedrooms. Sheri was a big help in showing us through their massive selection of samples. Couldn’t have asked for a better team. The Reno turned out amazing.”
- terry boyce, Google Review
Dedicate, attentive, and thorough
“Needed new carpet for the stairs and the entire 2nd floor. From the first time we met Sheri, you could tell that she wanted to earn our business. We had to try and match the carpet with the multi-colored vinyl flooring, which proved to be no easy task. She let us take samples home, she kept searching out (on her own) colors she thought would match, she even drove to our house in Sherwood Park to drop some samples off. She did earn our business and we are VERY happy with the results. Dale & Jordan did the install and did a great job. The carpet is SO soft – we love walking barefoot on it! A great experience, all around. I would not hesitate to recommend Monarch – Carpet One.”
