Bellissimo Hair & Beauty Salon has been doing hair in Edmonton for about 20 years, which honestly tells me they’ve figured out how to keep people coming back.
Keratin treatments seem to be one of the big draws. I chatted with one of their regular clients who said her hair stayed smooth for months, even through the kind of humid, rainy stretches that usually ruin a fresh style.
To me, that says the staff here know exactly what they’re doing when it comes to both product and technique.
They have plenty of before-and-after shots, and I liked that the hair still looked like actual hair. They weren’t flat-ironed into oblivion. You can still see a bit of movement and shine.
I also heard that the staff takes time to walk clients through aftercare, so the smoothness actually lasts beyond the salon chair.
The catch? The waiting area is small and pretty basic. It’s fine if you’re in and out, but it’s not the kind of place where you’d settle in with a coffee before your appointment.

I’ve heard good things about Volume Salons, so I decided to give their keratin treatment a try for my birthday, partly as a treat to myself.
The salon has been around since 2006, which reassured me I was in capable hands.
I liked that before anything else, the stylist explained what they were using, such as Olaplex and Kerastase mixed into the keratin. She then walked through how the treatment actually works.
What stood out most was their keratin + hair botox option. Mine included caviar oil, argan oil, and amino acids. The finish felt smoother than I expected, without looking heavy or flat.
For a few weeks after, I noticed less frizz. It stayed smooth, shiny, and strong while keeping a natural lightness and movement.
I also liked how they lay out pricing for both men and women. It feels straightforward and inclusive.
The only thing I didn’t love was the setup of the salon. The stations are positioned close together, so when it’s busy, the space feels a bit tight.

“Yesterday was one of my best experience ever for my all entire life with hair salon.
Volume hair salon is the best, my journey started with misunderstanding my request and my daughter’s, and I wanted one specific for keratin treatment and professional one, so I drove 38 km from NW to their place and they started to give me a hair cut and postponed my daughter as I arrived late with 1/2 hour, and I realized they will only go for deep conditioning , so I drove after my work 40 km late and getting nothing.
Then they made a couple of calls to the manager , to confirm my story, and I told my self , I will leave without doing anything, and so as my daughter.
But in a very short time, I just realized that the manager jumped to the place apologizing and very quickly like a rocket he started handling my hair professionally and my daughter and did the whole job nicely and professionally in a very short time.
I knew later that he left his family dinner and past his sleeping time inorder to finish the job.

If you have loads of curly, uncontrollable hair like me ask for Rida. He has arms of steel for blowdrying!!! Plus the Keratin treatment is a marvel of the modern world for the curly haired. Most of my colleagues keep bringing up Chrome SPA Salon whenever the topic of hair comes up. After hearing them rave about it a few times, I figured there had to be something to it.
The salon’s been around since the early 2000s, which already tells me they’ve had plenty of time to build trust and figure out what works.
Keratin seems to be the big favorite. A couple of my coworkers mentioned the Kearsilk treatment, and they swear it keeps their hair smooth for months—even when the weather doesn’t cooperate.
What also stood out to me is that they’ve got formaldehyde-free options like Chrome 2.0 and Majestic Botox. It’s a thoughtful alternative for people who don’t want harsh stuff on their hair.
I like that they don’t stop at smoothing. From what I’ve heard, they also use treatments like Olaplex and K18, which shows they’re serious about keeping hair strong well after the appointment.
The only downside? You can’t really pop in on a whim. Most of their services are appointment-based, so walk-ins can be tough to get.

“I had a Goldwell Kerasilk Keratin Treatment & haircut Service done by Kristen.
The salon was clean, the staff were friendly, everyone was wearing facemasks and there was limited number of staff and clients.
My haircut was perfect! Kristen did a great job with my side bangs and layers and totally fixed my quarantine haircut disaster.
The keratin treatment is amazing! I have curly, thin hair that couldn’t see a hairdryer unless I had the time to flat iron it right after. Now, it takes me 10min to go from wet to dry and ready to go out the door. My hair is thicker, softer, and shinier than ever! It’s been a month since I had the treatment done and I’m super happy with the results.

“So, let’s talk about Will first…HE WAS PHENOMENAL!!! I was recommended to him by another lady who also loves him and his salons. I have super thick curly hair, and I had not had it cut in over a year due to a bad experience from another salon. It desperately needed cut as it was now really dry and I had lots of split ends. When I walked in they were all very professional and took COVID seriously. You have to put a new mask on that they provide as well as putting your belongings in a little cubby, to help stop the spread of germs. But anyways, everyone was wearing masks, super polite, helpful and knowledgeable. My appointment was with Will, and he treated me like we had been best friends for 20 years. He was so welcoming and sweet. I told him to do whatever he wanted with my hair since he has been cutting curly hair for 25 years, and he made it look so good. My hair was pretty long, but he cut almost all of the dead ends off, gave me a little bang in the front, layered it, and then styled it. He also took the time to SHOW me how to style it, which is probably what I appreciated the most. I have such a hard time styling it, and he stayed there for a little over an hour with me, cutting my hair, talking to me, explaining what he was doing, showing me how to use different products and tools to help my hair look “salon quality” at home. While I felt the price of the cut was a bit expensive at first, when I was done, I felt that I wasn’t paying enough lol. I have never been to such an amazing salon. Oh and the man who washed my hair (I’m sorry, I forget your name!!) was also amazing. We had a great conversation and he was also soo polite. I cannot recommend Will’s salons enough, and am actually going back at the beginning of April for a smoothing treatment to help tame my frizz haha. SO happy I found this place!!”

What made Hair Palace Salon stand out is its approach to building real connections with clients. Many people have already formed a friendship with their stylist, which makes the experience more personal.
From what I’ve heard, stylists take time to listen, ask questions, and adjust the treatment to hair type and desired results. I like that it’s not a one-size-fits-all approach.
Their keratin treatments also seem to hit the right balance between results and price. A few friends told me it’s worth it because their hair stayed smooth for weeks without emptying their wallets.
I can see why some clients keep coming back here. The salon rarely disappoints, and once you find a stylist you like, you tend to stick with them.
The salon itself looks spacious, clean, and bright, which I imagine makes a long treatment more comfortable.
Being open late on weekdays and on weekends is another win. It’s perfect if your schedule doesn’t exactly line up with normal business hours.
However, results can vary depending on the stylist. So while lots of people rave about it, you might need to figure out which stylist is your go-to before getting your ideal keratin finish.

Hair World & Company has a bit of a buzz around it, mostly because Ricky Shum (a World Champion hairstylist) leads the team.
Stylists here have trained at Vidal Sassoon, Toni & Guy, and Pivot Point. That’s why it’s not surprising that their services, especially keratin treatments, get a lot of attention.
What makes their treatments stand out is how they mix traditional smoothing with tech like Photon Rainbow Light Therapy. Apparently, it keeps hair healthy while still taming frizz and adding shine.
I like that they don’t just go through the motions. The consultations are tailored to your hair type and what you actually want to achieve, so it feels more personal than a generic treatment.
The salon itself feels professional but approachable. It’s clean, well-equipped, and seems like the kind of place where longer treatments don’t feel like a chore.
The only downside? With all the advanced training and specialized treatments, prices run on the higher side. For anyone trying to stick to a budget, it might feel like a treat rather than a regular stop.
