Did you know that going on a keto diet improves your cholesterol and boosts weight loss? Yeah – that’s exactly what my friend told me after stuffing my mouth with the delicious ribeye! 

While I’m not 100% on a keto diet (yet), I took the opportunity to combine my love for food and fitness while testing it. Went on a search for the best keto restaurants in Edmonton and here we are!

Everything here’s tried and tested by me for the past few months. So, check it out if you want to see what’s on top as per my finicky tastebuds.

Splash Poke

Bringing a taste of Hawaiian vibes and excitement, Splash Poke is a top pick for keto fans. The best part is that their poke bowls are simply delicious!

With plenty of options like the “everything all in” bowl, you can get salmon, tuna, shoyu sauce, mix-ins, and all toppings (except avocado). Then it’s topped off with garnishes, splash aioli, and sriracha aioli. 

But the real keto winner? Try the Tuna and Scallop (raw) on a salad base with sesame aioli, seaweed, cucumber, and tobiko on top. It’s one of my faves!

And whether you’re a Greek food lover or on a keto kick, this spot welcomes you with open arms. 

Be sure to try their best keto snacks, like the grilled halloumi, which is a cheese lover’s dream. And don’t sleep on their salads, perfect with any protein like grilled chicken or roasted lamb, served with low-carb dressing.

Grilled food is a keto lover’s go-to, and Mikado in downtown Edmonton has you covered. They offer a variety of grilled dishes here, including marinated chicken, fish, and squid, which is a crowd favorite among keto dieters. 

You can also never go wrong with their teppanyaki dishes, featuring proteins like grilled chicken, steak, or seafood.

Just keep in mind, prices here are a bit higher, but for the quality of food and service you get, it’s totally worth it!

At Tsujiri, you’re in for a treat! It’s not just a tea house; you can also grab a meal and enjoy your favorite drinks. 

The place boasts a fantastic selection of matcha and other teas. Try the sugar-free iced matcha latte with almond milk – it’s a hit! 

And if you’re on a Keto diet, you’re in luck because there are plenty of Keto-friendly matcha drinks too. Whether you like it on the rocks, blended with ice cream, or piping hot, you got it here.

They also offer plenty of drink options, but it’s best to stick with their sugar-free matcha. 

Keto food choices may be relatively limited, but the atmosphere of the place is truly captivating and the food is superb.

If you’re a pizza lover but prefer to keep it low-carb, Blaze Pizza is the place for you. Here, you can create your dream pizza with unlimited toppings for under $20!

Start with their keto crust, then pile on your favorite toppings from their extensive selection. There’s no limit to how much you can load up your pie, by the way.

If you’re craving some greens alongside your pizza, go for their Take Two option, which usually includes a half-build-your-own pizza and a salad. And if you’re not sure what you want, they have set menu pizzas too.

Overall, it’s great keto-friendly pizza, with good service, and a nice seating area.

When it comes to burgers, you can’t beat Fatburger’s keto Mushroom burger. It’s delicious with its keto buns and loaded with mushrooms. 

If mushrooms aren’t your thing, try their California burger instead. It comes with a fresh beef patty, crispy bacon, and creamy avocado.

What’s great about Fatburger is how they cook their burgers. Each meal is made-to-order, using top-notch ingredients and traditional cooking methods.

This place is a blast with its fun 50’s style diner vibe. The service is friendly and has that cozy small-town feel. Rockin’ Robyn’s Diner has a huge menu featuring all-day breakfast and gluten-free options for those with dietary restrictions. 

Their top seller is their gluten-free, keto-friendly breakfast sandwich. It’s packed with bacon, fried egg, cheddar cheese, chipotle aioli, lettuce, and tomato – all served on their homemade gluten-free “chaffles”. 

The atmosphere is lively, and the desserts are to die for – though they might not be keto-friendly. But hey, if you’re on a keto diet, their breakfast sandwich is enough!

For an extra delicious touch, pair it with some perfectly cooked green beans served al dente. They make sure not to overdo it, which preserves the taste.

As for the service, it’s top-notch. While the interior of the restaurant might show a bit of wear and tear, it’s kept impeccably clean, so you can dine with peace of mind.

At Eat & Dip, you’ll find ultra kid-friendly (keto and comfort) food awaiting you. One standout dish you’ll love is their shawarma, which they proudly make keto-friendly. 

A top pick is their Saj chicken shawarma served with their special thin, crispy bread. But if you’re watching those carbs, no worries – you can have it wrapped in lettuce or served on a plate instead of the usual pita. 

They really pay attention to detail here. You can customize your shawarma with low-carb toppings like chopped onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, and olives.

On top of it, the prices are fair, especially considering the generous portions, plus the service is excellent. The staff is super friendly and always makes sure you have a great time.
