Going to the spa is a great way to unwind and let out all the stress that’s built up inside. If you need a day of relaxation and self-care, then you’re in the right place!
To sum up the best spas in Edmonton was no easy feat – especially since what constitutes an ideal day of pampering is different for each person. However, we based our list on these spas’ services, pricing, and what their clients had to say about their experiences.

The Best Spas in Edmonton
If you’re ready for a day of self-care and pampering, let’s go ahead and take a look at our picks for the best spas in Edmonton.
1. Urban Retreat Body and Skincare Centre
SERVICES | CoolSculpting, Skin Rejuvenation & Microneedling, Laser Hair Removal, Facials & Skin Care, Manicures & Pedicures, Grooming & Waxing, Massage Therapy, Body Treatments, Makeup Application, Spa Packages |
WEBSITE | https://myurbanretreat.com/ |
ADDRESS | 6841 170 Street, Edmonton, Alberta |
CONTACT DETAILS | Phone: (780) 481-2414 Email: [email protected] |
OPERATING HOURS | Monday to Friday: 9:00am – 9:00pm Saturday: 9:00am – 5:00pm Sunday: Closed |
Urban Retreat Day Spa has been serving the Edmonton area for over 20 years. They offer a diverse range of services and sell various skincare products from several brands as well.
Anita Prysko is the owner and director of Urban Retreat, who likewise has over two decades of experience in esthetic, laser, and electrolysis treatments. Although she is no longer taking new clients personally, she has redirected her focus on running the business.
We like Urban Retreat because they have a rewards-based Loyalty Program for clients that lets you earn points with a purchase of any product or service. Once you reach 50 points, you’ll automatically get $15 off on your next purchase!
They also hold a raffle for their products each month, and every time you make a new booking right after your appointment, your name will be entered into the draw. Moreover, as a member, you’ll get 10% off on a facial or massage, as well as $20 off any product during your birthday month.
With perks like these, Urban Retreat gets fully booked, and they recommend booking at least one to two weeks in advance. A 24-hour notice is needed for cancellations, and if you’re late for an appointment, they may cut it short to serve the other clients on time.
Moreover, they have a strict no-show policy that may charge you full price of your treatment if you fail to give any notice at all. This policy also applies to group treatments, regardless of if only one person fails to give advance notice.
Regardless, Urban Retreat has a wide array of varying services, even though they only have one spa package to offer their clients. Their specialty Pamper Package includes light lunch as well as a steam session, 1-hour massage, 1-hour facial, lunch, and a classic mani-pedi.
Although it isn’t one of the most unique spa packages, it does conveniently combine a general set of treatments in one bundle. And when you do the math, you save a little bit (just a little) compared to purchasing each treatment separately from the regular spa menu.
Moreover, although they offer a diverse array of treatments, each has limited options or variations and lacks any specialized practices. However, if you’re looking for a one-stop shop that doesn’t have a complicated spa menu with flowery language and exotic products, then Urban Retreat is a great choice.
They also have a relaxing client lounge and an exclusive steam room, which you’re more than welcome to use before or after your treatment.
With 17 specialists offering over 60 different treatments, you’ll pretty much find what you need at Urban Retreat. They may not have the most unique offerings, but their spa menu is one of the most complete we’ve seen, landing them a spot on our list of the best spas in Edmonton.
Pros
- Offers CoolSculpting, Microneedling, and Laser
- Loyalty Program has great perks
- Extensive list of various services
Cons
- Lacking in specialty or unique services
- Can get fully booked
Customer Reviews
Urban Retreat is a great one-stop shop for your spa treatment needs in the heart of the city. Known for their customer service, customers like Kiersten Rajotte experience their attentiveness first-hand, as she writes:
“This morning I went to Urban Retreat for a facial. I was very impressed with the level of professionalism from all the staff. My esthetician Katie was so sweet and thoughtful making it extremely relaxing. She made the entire experience very customized to my skincare needs. Katie took the extra time at the end of my appointment to help create a custom skincare routine that works best for me. She is very knowledgeable on all of the products and made this one of the most relaxing spa appointments I have ever had! I would recommend this spa to everyone they go above and beyond for their clients. To my surprise two hours after my appointment a package with some sample products, nail polish, and hair accessories was delivered to my house. This is 100% the best spa in Edmonton they go above and beyond the highest standard of care.”
2. Ahava Day Spa

WEBSITE | http://ahavacanada.ca/ |

CONTACT DETAILS | Phone: (780) 439-7079 Email: [email protected] |
OPERATING HOURS | Tuesday & Saturday: 10:00am – 6:00pm Wednesday to Friday: 10:00am – 8:00pm Sunday & Monday: Closed |
Ahava Day Spa was voted as one of the best spas in the province in the Alberta Consumer Choice Awards in 2017 and 2019. They were also recognized as the Reader’s Choice for Best Spa by Edmonton Journal in 2014 and 2015.
Ahava is the Hebrew word for “love” and you can expect to receive a lot of TLC here at this spa. All of their estheticians and massage therapists are fully trained, licensed, and well-versed in various techniques and methods.
We like that you can have a “look-see” of the facility with a free, fully guided tour to witness if the amenities are to your liking. After all, a spa’s atmosphere and ambiance are crucial for the overall experience.
Now, massages are one of Ahava Day Spa’s most popular services, offering several types such as therapeutic, trigger point, sports, and pregnancy massage. Take note though, that massages for cancer treatment or other major ailments require clearance from your doctor first.
What makes Ahava Day Spa’s massages unique is that you can add hot stones to any massage for an additional fee of $10. You may also request any of their therapists to perform your massage since they all have equal hourly rates.
As for their facials, Ahava Day Spa features customized treatments solely using Eminence Organic skincare products. This natural and organic skincare line is vegan-friendly, free of parabens, and doesn’t contain other harsh cosmetic chemicals.
If you’re interested in hydrotherapy, they have a private 42-jet soaker tub that’s recommended for muscle pain relief, although you could use it just to get a massage as well. If you need to detoxify and restore your body’s positive energy flow, they also offer Reiki and reflexology to help you out.
However, Ahava Day Spa is perhaps best known for their spa menu packages, with monthly rotating promotions that are well worth keeping tabs of. These specials feature different combinations of their ala carte treatments that are specifically targeted to treat specific parts of your body or complement your lifestyle.
Booking Ahava Day Spa’s packages is the best way to get the full experience. You’ll be enamored with their fluffy robes, excellent food options, and some even have special take-home treats at the end of the session.
So if you’re decided on booking an appointment at Ahava Day Spa, make sure to reserve your slot at least one month in advance. They can get fully booked especially on Fridays and Saturdays.
Make sure to be on time as well – if you’re late, they may shorten or modify your treatments to accommodate guests after your time slot. Moreover, if you don’t give at least 24 hours’ advance notice for a cancellation, you’ll be charged full price.
Despite their strict cancellation policies (as is the norm with most spas), Ahava Day Spa is a great choice for those looking to pamper or heal themselves. With a wide array of services and monthly packages, they’ve rightfully earned their spot on our list as one of the top spas in Edmonton.
Pros
- Free guided tour of facility for new clients
- Can add hot stones to any regular massage
- Offers rotating monthly packages
- Regularly offers discounts
- Complimentary take-home treats for some packages
Cons
- Not BBB Accredited
- 20% gratuity automatically added to bill for groups of three or more
- Requires 50% deposit at booking

This spa in the Glenora district has 3,200 sq ft of space dedicated to providing the most luxurious experience possible. They are a Quality Assurance Approved Spa, which is a prestigious rating in Canada given by third-party assessors to spas that exceed industry standards.
Now, do take note that when you book an appointment with Life Stiles, you’ll be required to pay a non-refundable deposit. If you cancel your appointment within the allotted time of 24 hours, you’ll be issued a gift card instead for the same amount.
Life Stiles recommends arriving 10 to 15 minutes early for your appointment so you can have a cup of tea and a “stress-free” check-in. This is because your treatments may be modified or cut short if you’re late so that they can accommodate the next client on time.
The serene ambiance of the spa’s premises is important to Life Stiles spa etiquette policy. So take note that cellphones should be turned off, stored in complimentary lockers and kids under 8 are not allowed inside.
Despite their strict policies, we like Life Stiles because you can build your own “customized” spa package. If you combine 3 or more services from their spa menu, you receive a 10% discount, whether you’re flying solo or booking for a group.
Complimentary drinks are included in all their packages but you can flair it up by adding on champagne, wine, or non-alcoholic beverages for an extra fee. While they offer food and drinks upon request between treatments, these are usually either salads or pizza only.
If you don’t want to customize your treatment, their standard solo packages are great to begin with, such as their Life Stile Signature Package. This includes a steam shower, Hydralessence Aromatic Body Experience and Signature Facial package which promises to detox and nourish your skin.
They also offer several couples packages that offer facials, pedicures, massages, and oil body treatments for you and your partner. Whether you decide on the Couples Massage Getaway or their Signature Couple Escape, you can find a package that’s ideal for some quality time.
We also like the massages here at Life Stiles because you can add Yon-Ka essential oils to any massage for only $25. You have four scents to choose from which include base aromas of lavender, cedar, citrus, and jasmine.
Life Stiles has three exclusive membership options that offer discounts up to 20% off and include complimentary add-on services. If you foresee yourself regularly getting facials, massages, and mani-pedis, then becoming a member is worth considering.
To make the most of your membership, you should avail of a service at least once a month. Should you not be able to make it for a certain month, you can carry over your missed appointment to the next month and have two treatments!
Pros
- Can “build” your own spa package
- Three membership options
- Offers traditional and electronic gift cards, gift account credits
- Various packages offered
Cons
- Deposits are “refunded” as a gift check instead
- Children under 8 years old aren’t allowed inside
- Expensive

Dandy Salon Spa was awarded Top Choice Beauty Spa in Edmonton in 2020. This spa’s two co-owners have a combined experience of over four decades in the industry.
If you’re looking to support a local spa that promotes green initiatives and gives back to the community, then you’ll want to get pampered at Dandy Salon Spa. They are part of Green Circle Salon (businesses owners united for sustainability) and support numerous cancer-related charities.
When you’re ready to start your appointment at Dandy Salon Spa, you will be provided a complimentary locker, slippers, and a robe to wear between treatments. All treatment times include assessment, preparation, and education on proper self-care.
Dandy Salon Spa uses products from two primary brands namely Kevin Murphy and Serene, which are eco-friendly products. For skincare professionals, they offer Aveda, which uses industry-standard formulations to get medical-grade results without the need for a prescription.
We like that they offer an express menu, which contains “quick-fix” services that can be accomplished in only 15 to 30 minutes. If you have a busy lifestyle, this menu offers services such as mani-pedis, facial treatments, and more.
Another reason to be a patron at Dandy Salon Spa is that they also have a full-service traditional salon. Whether you want a simple trim, balayage or hair extensions, they’ve got you covered.
As for their spa packages, Dandy Salon Spa offers a total of five choices to select from, with the “Rejuvenate” package advertised as their premium offering. This includes the signature Dandy facial, body polish, stone fusion mani-pedi, and a light lunch.
Although the Rejuvenate package doesn’t include a massage, for $350 and five and a half hours of your time, it’s one of the more affordable deals around.
As for massages, they offer smooth stone, targeted therapy, and expectant mother massages as some of their standard offerings. However, if you want to indulge, their Elemental Nature Massage involves aromatherapy and a soothing soak in their chromocoloured air jetted tub.
Alternatively, Dandy Salon Spa also offers a Sheradha Therapy Activation Muscle Into Natural Alignment or STAMINA. This hands-on therapy gets to the root of your pains and aims to help your brain learn that your muscles have been reinvigorated.
If you’re looking for personal grooming options, one of their offered services is epilation. This is the removal of hair with a unique electrical device that’s suitable for both women and men.
Now if you’re ready to book an appointment at Dandy Salon Spa, keep in mind that you need to provide your credit card info first. Don’t worry, you won’t be charged until after your treatment – unless you fail to notify them 48 hours before the cancellation or don’t show up to your appointment.
Dandy Salon Spa offers gift certificates and vouchers as well, which is a great gift to give your loved ones or friends. Take note though that if you miss your appointment when using a GC or voucher, it will automatically be void.

- Gift certificates and vouchers available
- Express Menu for quick services

6. Studio J Urban Spa
SERVICES | Spa Packages, Skin Care, Manicures & Nail Services, Pedicures, Hair Removal, Make-Up, Tinting & Eyelash, Perms, Massage, Body Treatments |

ADDRESS | 10014 Jasper Avenue Edmonton, AB T5J 1R2 |
CONTACT DETAILS | Phone: (780) 425-6555 Email: [email protected] |
OPERATING HOURS | Monday: Closed Tuesday, Wednesday, & Friday: 10:00am – 6:00pm Thursday: 10:00am – 8:00 pm Saturday: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm Sunday: Closed |
Studio J Urban Spa is a boutique spa located in the heart of Edmonton’s downtown area. They aim to give you the “star” treatment so that you’ll leave their spa looking and feeling good.
Offering a varied selection of services, some of the treatments they offer include common aesthetic packages such as manicures, pedicures, full body waxing, eyelash tinting, and more.
They only offer standard therapeutic and hot stone massages, which is a little disappointing. We would have liked to have seen several different types of methods and techniques as this is one of the most common sought-out services.
Nevertheless, they offer several spa packages that are a tad bit more exciting with varied choices. However, each package only contains three treatments from their menu, which we presume keeps the price relatively affordable for customers.
We like their packages because Studio J is one of the few spas that offer a full-body rejuvenation package exclusively for men. The “Gentleman’s Time” package includes a massage and a choice between a facial and hydration treatment.
Their body treatment packages use Skeyndor products, offering sapphire micro-particle wraps that can rejuvenate your skin. This specialized bundle offers anti-fatigue body treatments that can rejuvenate your muscular system and activate your circulation.
Now, Studio J’s star service is facial treatments and before you get one you’ll need to have a 30-minute consultation to analyze your skin in great detail. The consultation costs $30 though, after which you’ll be given a quotation on your customized treatment.
The good news is that if you continue with their recommended facial treatment, your consultation fee will be applied to the cost of the facial. So as long as you avail of their service, the consultation is actually free.
Offering standard deep cleansing facials and urban facials for men, Studio J once again shines in creating services geared towards both sexes. Moreover, they also have a specialized Adolescent Facial that’s specifically been designed for the skin of teens.
For those with busier schedules, Studio J also offers quick service facials that last only 24-30 minutes. It includes cleansing, exfoliation, and a face massage for an affordable price of only $62.
Studio J also offers specialty facial treatments that can only be recommended by one of their estheticians. Whether it’s their award-winning Power Hydro-Dynamic Treatment for wrinkles and hydration or Anti-Gravity Lifting Treatment to add firmness and fullness to your face, you may just want to request a recommendation.
Pros
- Specializes in custom and premium facial treatments
- Has quick-fix facial treatments for busy people
- Offers several treatment packages for men
Cons
- Doesn’t offer registered massage therapy.
- Charges $30 for a half hour consultation
Customer Reviews
They say that cleanliness is next to godliness, but in the case of Studio J Urban Spa, it has earned them loyal customers. One of these customers is Amal Chaaban, who comments:
“Excellent professional and efficient. My esthtician was so kind and attentive – she really took a moment to listen to what I wanted done and what I wanted the final look to be. Also? So clean. This place is so clean. Just earned a repeat customer.”
Sandra B, another customer, affirms the observation on cleanliness, as she says:
“I’ve always had good experiences at this spa. The work is done well and the service is very professional. The surroundings are very clean, comfortable and relaxing.”

Wellness on Whyte was founded by Geha Gonthier, who is still an active senior practitioner at the Spa. She specializes in Eastern and alternative treatments such as acupuncture, tarot card reading, and QiGong Therapy.
In that regard, Wellness on Whyte is best known for combining ancient Asian practice with modern European techniques and technology. Their central location Edmonton offers people access to various treatments and modalities.
One of this spa’s trademarks is their Canadian cedar wood infrared sauna, which you can indulge in before or after you have one of their customized facials or specialty massages. It’s custom made and can have several benefits which include helping you detoxify, improve circulation, promote weight loss, and more.
However, as mentioned earlier, acupuncture is one of their specialties at Wellness on Whyte, with therapies such as Gua Sha, cupping, and medicinal Chinese herbs. With registered and licensed acupuncturists, they can address diseases and ailments such as pain, immune dysfunction, emotional disorders, and reproductive health among others.
If you’re new to acupuncture, you can only book an appointment by phone and you’ll be required to make a non-refundable deposit of $100. The treatment consists of an 80-minute session wherein you’ll undergo a full medical history and assessment.
Do you think the session is a little bit long? Don’t worry, after your first appointment, you can opt for a shorter session either 65 minutes or 50 minutes long.

They also offer a premium spa package wherein you can combine three or more treatments from their services. This package includes their trademark infrared sauna session as well.
To make it even better, you’ll be served fresh juice and organic raw food in between each treatment. This is to help you recharge and complete your experience of self-care and renewal.
This custom package can only be booked via the phone and requires at least 72 hours’ notice for a cancellation. if you fail to do so, you’ll automatically be charged the full appointment price.
If you want to try out different treatments, Wellness on Whyte also has a special “sampler” package for new clients which offers a 30% discount for three out of the five preselected treatments. This package includes their signature massage, wellness facial, introduction to acupuncture, reiki, or sanctuary bliss massage.
The catch with the introductory offer though is that while you only undergo three treatments during your first visit, the remaining two treatments (which are charged at full price), must be consumed within 21 days.
Nevertheless, Wellness on Whyte is a great alternative for those seeking alternative medicine and treatments. With a wide array of treatments, a custom-made spa, and a convenient location, they’re one of our top choices for spas in Edmonton.
Pros
- Specializes in Eastern alternative practices
- Offers custom spa package
- Has promotions and discounts for new clients
- Wide array of treatments offered
Cons
- Some treatments need at least 72 hours notice for cancellation
- 50% deposit required via credit card
