Turns out, Edmonton has plenty of reliable storage options. Here are the top spaces I found after reaching out to other customers and visiting the storage spaces myself!
How much does it cost to rent a storage space in Edmonton?
A storage space in Edmonton may cost from $20 per week up to $300 per month. Pricing also depends on the size of the unit and rental duration. Some companies offer flexible rental terms and discounts for longer durations.
1. River City Storage

River City Storage is one of the first facilities I immediately considered because of its large and clean space.
I also like that their facility is in a convenient location, just next to Rogers Place. It’s easy to access, especially at times you urgently need something to drop off or pick up from your storage space.
They also offer various sizes, which gives you the freedom to choose just how much space you need. From 5 x 5 to 10 x 20, they have it.
Another thing I appreciate about them is that they have an online size guide. You can input the things you plan to store, and it’ll give you an idea of what size you need. It’s convenient and very helpful, especially for first-timers.
Staff are also polite, with some clients noting that it’s convenient to move in and out. They’re also patient in showing new clients different units and allowing enough time before making a decision.
Just one thing to take note of is that they’re very strict with late payments. Clients said that they charge too much for late payments.

South Edmonton Storage is another reliable facility to consider. They’ve been providing clean, dry, and bright storage space since 2004.
First thing we like about this company is that they offer residential and commercial storage space. This is good news for those who need extra space for their business supplies.
Also, I found their 24/7 access very convenient. Like, you don’t have to notify them days before you can access your storage space. This is also helpful if you need something urgent on your unit.
Security is also one of their priorities. Their facility is covered with surveillance cameras to ensure the safety of your belongings. This will give you peace of mind knowing your stuff is in a safe facility.
For their offerings, they have self-storage units. These are ideal for university students, seasonal storage, and moving or renovation. They also offer retail and office storage for businesses.
It’s also worth mentioning that they accommodate RV and boat storage – perfect for those looking for where to store their precious fleet.
Despite the strengths of this company, there are also some shortcomings. One thing is that they’re a bit slow on accommodating some concerns, like fixing a broken door in winter.

SmartStop Self Storage is another company with comprehensive storage options available. From self-storage to business storage, they have it.
So, whether you’re a student looking for a place to store your things or a shop owner needing space for your equipment, SmartStop won’t disappoint you.
Seeing that they have drive-up access and climate-controlled storage space gives me the confidence that the rental experience here would be easy and great.
On top of that, they got wide driveways for easy pickup and drop-off. They also have security cameras and digital video recording, which is helpful in keeping your things safe.
Their units also have computerised keypad access, which is high-tech and more secure. Users also said that they prefer it to using traditional locks and keys.
Their location is something I also appreciate. The facility is near MacEwan University and the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT). This makes moving in and out convenient for both students and local business owners.
Just a heads up: the facility is only open from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, so you might need to plan accordingly. They’re not ideal for late midnight access.

Landmark Self Storage Inc. is a family-owned and operated business. It’s not as big as other facilities, but they still have nice storage options.
They offer both heated and non-heated storage units. They also have relocatable storage sheds and a mini-garage. In fact, most of their clients are car owners.
Aside from that, I like that they offer monthly promos on their storage options. The last time I checked, they have 50% off for the first payment available for non-heated units (selected sizes only).
Not all companies offer promos, and this is good news for first-timers. If you also want to try their service first before committing to a longer duration, their promos can help you decide whether to stay or not.
Since they’re a family-owned business, you’ll also get family-level customer care. Many clients we talked to highlighted that they had a great experience dealing with the owner. They said they’re friendly and accommodating.
You can access your storage space anytime you want, which is also nice.

Cubeit is a reputable company with different branches in Canada. Luckily, they have a convenient Edmonton facility, which makes it a plus for me.
The first thing I like about this company is its well-maintained storage units located in a clean and large facility. Their units are also steel containers, which makes them durable and more secure.
On top of that, they also offer affordable DIY moving and storage services. You just have to pack your things and arrange them to be delivered to their storage facility. This is ideal for those doing renovations and wanting an organised way to store things.
Also, they have a safe and horizontal delivery system. You don’t need to worry about damaged items during transport. Their service also comes with a professional driver for your peace of mind.
It’s also worth highlighting that they have a friendly and professional team. They respond to inquiries promptly and won’t leave you hanging.
If there’s one thing we don’t like about Cubeit, it’s their salesy nature. Some potential customers reported that they received numerous calls from the company offering their services.
