Customer Reviews

Customers gave Mastermind Toys a high rating as one of the best toy stores in Edmonton. They were particularly keen on the pleasant experience with the store’s staff and the wide variety of items the store carries.

Here are some of their reviews:

“I think it is very brave for this small toy store to be located across the street from Toys R Us. However, it carries items that are more educationally-oriented and harder to find. It’s very well-organized and higher-end in terms of prices but I really enjoyed browsing here even though they were out of the specific item I was looking for.”

-Paula

“My experience here recently while doing Christmas shopping was actually quite excellent. The staff member who helped me was great: he pointed out a free item I received for buying one of the other items I was purchasing. The staff at the checkout counter were excellent as well: they encouraged me to sign up for their loyalty program which was helpful also. I was pleased with my purchases and their prices and will likely return on occasion should the need arise to buy toys/books/etc. for the children in my life, including my own!”

Education Station is a specialty toy store that carries items centered on kids’ learning and discovery.

Education Station began in 1998 with 20 products being sold out of the basement of current owners Diane Shaw and John Foo. From then on, the toy store grew to have two branches in Edmonton, a warehouse, and thousands of quality products from the educational industry.

Their selections span 14 different categories. These include Arts and Crafts, Early Learning, Puzzles, Pretend and Play, and Science.

They also have a special category dedicated to Canadian resources, and it features Canadian play money, Canadian trivia cards, and more. Education Station even features toys that are specially crafted for children with special needs, which is a big plus for us.

Aside from that, the toy store also carries an expansive selection of teacher resources such as daily plan books, storage pocket charts, stamp sets, lab sets and flashcards, among others.

Another unique feature of Education Station is their lowest price guarantee. According to their website, Education Station will match the lower price if you find an identical item from a competing store that has a lower price tag.

They also offer special furniture and carpets for kids’ toy areas such as activity mats, rest mats, round floor cushions, cots and chairs among others.

To make kids feel special, Education Station also has a Birthday Club program. Birthday Club membership perks include a $10 Gift Certificate and a 15% discount for birthday purchases.

Customer Reviews

Here are some of the comments shared by their past customers to explain they believe Education Station is one of the top toy stores in Edmonton:

“5 stars!! An amazing way to get kids excited about learning from home again!! Online order was easy and curbside pickup friendly and awesome!!! Thanks for keeping kids engaged at this time!”

-Angela

“I was MOST impressed by the two young ladies working.  They noticed that I was struggling to get my shopping done while wrangling my toddler who really should have been napping (oops, Mom mistake).  They played with her and entertained her while I was able to pick up what I wanted. They were extremely enthusiastic and helpful.  I have to say that they made all the difference and they would be the primary reason I would go there versus another educational supply store.”

Customer Reviews

Here are some of the comments shared by customers:

“I don’t have kids of my own but I do have a fair number of kids in my life. This fact frequently brings me to kids stores for gifts! The Princess and the Pea is one of my favorites for books and clothes. They have tons of selection for toddlers mostly, and some books and toys for kids up to 5 or 6 years old. They also have great stuff for newborns including soft blankets and clothing. They have a lot of wooden European made toys that I haven’t been able to find anywhere else. A particular favorite I have bought for some of the kids in my life is a set of dress-up animals. They are little wooded figurines that you can dress up to be zebras, cheetahs and other animals! Not only are they cute, but they also help develop tactile skills as kids learn to do up buttons to keep the animal clothes on. This is a great place to check out if you need a gift for a special kiddo in your life!”

-Jessica

“Such cute and unique products! Service was incredibly quick- I placed my order at 8am and it was on my doorstep by 6pm the same day. I definitely wasn’t expecting that!”
