Exceeds expectations consistently
“I recently bought the Duke Cake (Large) from Duchess Bake Shop for my wife’s birthday, and it was an absolute hit! The cake was a stunning masterpiece, beautifully decorated, and full of rich flavors. The combination of chocolate mousse, almond sponge, and salted caramel was simply divine and left everyone wanting more. This was my second experience with Duchess Bake Shop, and once again, they exceeded my expectations. The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating, ensuring that everything was perfect for our celebration. Duchess Bake Shop is, without a doubt, my favorite spot for cakes. The quality and attention to detail are unmatched, making it the perfect place to find a special treat for any occasion. Highly recommend!”

Creates a very satisfying dessert and coffee experience
“Amazing is all I can think of. Food and service both. Ordered grapefruit lavender tart It was $12 and seemed a little high priced but it was so good that we ended up getting one more. Their chocolate chip cookie is absolutely delicious and so is the butter tart. I know when my coffee is not good and I must say their latte was awesome. Very happy.”

Invites guests to return for a relaxed afternoon
“I had been longing to go to The Art of Cake, seeing how popular they were on Google. I happened to go there during the weekend, sadly was there half an hour before close, so did not get to spend much time there. The ambiance amazed me. It was stunning and unique. I loved the peaky blinders theme, a very vintage look. The baked items were yummy, and the service was good. Friendly and professional staff. I love how they have paid detailed attention to every nook and corner of the shop, including their washrooms. I can’t wait to go again and spend a relaxed afternoon there. They have a lunch menu too.. Yay!”

What we love about Block 1912 Café is how it blends history, art, and some seriously good desserts all under one roof. Nestled in the historic Hulbert Block on Whyte Avenue, this place feels like more than just a café.
When we stopped by, the chocolate mousse cake was a hit with our team. A couple of regulars also recommended their seasonal fruit pies – made fresh by certified pastry chefs. If you’re a fan of gelato, you’re in for a treat because their house-made flavors change with the seasons.
They’re not just about the food too. The space comes alive with live music, art exhibits, and book readings, making it a true cultural hub. Whether you’re catching up with friends or hunkering down with some work, the inviting atmosphere has you covered.
We also loved the convenience of being able to order online for takeout, so you can enjoy their goodies at home.
Attracts regular patrons with its consistent high standards
“Phenomenal cafe on Whyte Ave, with a more intimate setting and a vibrant ambiance. Great for both work and socializing. The espressos and fogs served here are significantly better than those served at most other cafes in the area. Their cake selection is very large, and although they are not the cheapest, they are worth the price. I myself am a regular patron and recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality cafe.”

Some of the regulars we chatted with couldn’t stop talking about the chocolate lava cake. It’s easily one of the stars of the menu.
But D Spot isn’t just about satisfying your sweet tooth. We tried the butter chicken pizza and it definitely hit the spot for something savory.
Their commitment to offering halal options is a big plus for inclusivity, making it a welcoming place for everyone.

Serves a delicious Belgian white chocolate milkshake
“We went there for the first time and oh my gosh, this place is a “gem”. As soon as you enter, you are greeted by a heavenly fragrance of some amazing delicious desserts. Now, the menu was pretty huge, but we were just focused on quenching our sweet tooth. We finally ordered a don’t make me blush waffle and Belgian white chocolate milkshake. The waffle was a ‘chef’s kiss’, perfectly sweet, with a soft base and some crunchy nuts. The rose ice cream was indeed the star of the dish. I loved every single bite of it. The milkshake was also great, enjoyed it too. The service was excellent, we were asked by at-least three people, how our food was! Overall, 5/5 stars, something that I rarely give to any restaurant.”

Delivers delicious desserts that are perfect for indulging
“Had an amazing lunch at D Spot! While the menu is heavier on the desserts, they do have a nice selection of savory meals! We had some of the burgers and they were amazing. Ash was very attentive and when we had a slight issue with one of our burgers, she was quick and went above and beyond to get it fixed. Desserts are great…be prepared to bring some stretchy pants…lol. Will be coming back soon!”

What we really enjoy about Macarons and Goodies is how it brings a slice of French pastry perfection to Edmonton. On our visit, we couldn’t resist grabbing a croissant and it was everything a croissant should be: golden, flaky, and buttery.
A few regulars were raving about the Raspberry Chocolate Cake, and after trying it ourselves, we can see why. Chef Akram Hasni’s 18 years of experience really shines through in every bite, whether it’s a delicate éclair or a bold Lemon Meringue Tart.
They also offer sandwiches and quiches if you’re in the mood for something savory, which is a nice touch for a quick lunch.
Plus, the Italian coffee they serve adds an extra layer to the experience. If you’d rather enjoy their pastries from home, online ordering through Uber Eats or DoorDash makes that easy.
Oh, and their baking classes? We’ve got that on our list for next time!

They are mouth watery goodness! The owner Akram is so friendly and I love the interactions with him and his staff.
