Lysander Piano Trio to perform in Edmonton, September 17

The Lysander Piano Trio composed of Itamar Zorman on violin, Liza Stepanova on piano, and Michael Katz on cello, will be performing at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church this September 17. The show starts at 7:30 PM.

If you love classical music, this show is for you.

Presented by the Edmonton Chamber Music Society, the Lysander Piano Trio are well-loved for their programming and ability to play fresh interpretations of classics with a deep passion.

Their debut recording After A Dream produced by CAG Records has been lauded for its spirited interpretations by The New York Times. They released their most recent album, Mirrors, last year featuring six works they commissioned.

This group, hailing from New York, has spent over 10 years performing for different venues in the United States and abroad. They have played for the Copenhagen Summer Festival, Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater, and many more.

They formed their group at The Juilliard School in 2009 and started to represent their school overseas. Their name is taken from a character in A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Shakespeare.

The group made its name known in various competitions early in its career.

They got top honors at the 2010 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, won the grand prize at the 2011 Coleman Chamber Ensemble Competition, and first prize at the 2011 J. C. Arriaga Chamber Music Competition.

A ticket to the show costs $51 per piece for both adults and senior citizens. If you’re under 30, you get to hear them for a discounted price of $26.

There will be no physical or electronic tickets. Instead, you will have to give your order confirmation when you enter.
