It starts small. You find an old camera at a weekend market, tell yourself it’s just for the shelf. Somehow, three months later, you’re in the back corner of a cluttered antique shop and taking Bakelite radios with someone who remembers when they were new.
That’s usually how it goes. One random find turns into a full-on obsession. The more you notice how much better older things are built, the more you start seeking them out.
If you’ve reached that point, or if you’re just curious about where to begin, here’s a list of local antique shops in Edmonton to check out. These spots make the hunt feel like an adventure again.

I stopped by Ibon Antiques on a quiet Saturday because a magpie mural caught my eye and pulled me in. Inside, the store turned out to be pretty spacious. It didn’t feel packed or overwhelming, and the layout made browsing easy and relaxed.
The selection was just as inviting. There’s a bit of everything—ceramics, glassware, and collectible clothing. There are even some odd little trinkets that made me stop and take a second look.
When I asked about a carved side table, the staff was friendly and straightforward. They even mentioned that they offer layaway for some of the more expensive items, which I wasn’t expecting.
As I continued walking around, I overheard one of the staff chatting with a couple about a Royal Dux piece. They were sharing background about its maker and how it ended up in the shop.
I liked that it didn’t feel like a sales pitch. Just someone who genuinely knew their stuff and enjoyed talking about it.
The only thing that took away from the experience a bit was how closely one of the staff seemed to be watching me while I browsed. It wasn’t anything obvious, but it was enough to make things feel slightly less relaxed.
Cozy atmosphere, knowledgeable staff
“This is a beautiful shop with a warm and cozy atmosphere and lovely staff who are so knowledgable. There is a wide variety of inventory. The antique furniture pieces are amazing! I only wish I had had more time to look around. I will be returning in the future.”

Well-organized shop, great prices
“This store is beautiful; I used to always drive past it and wonder what was in the store, and I’m so glad I finally stopped in. Everything is so pretty and well-organized. They have a great selection of Tiffany-style lamps, gorgeous antique furniture, and other smaller antique pieces, and the prices are very reasonable. And the staff are super friendly and helpful! We brought our baby with us and I was afraid they might not be happy with us bringing a stroller in, but they didn’t mind at all and offered to move furniture for us if we needed! So sweet. 🙂 If you’re looking for a good antiques store you have to check this place out.”

2. Junque Cellar

My sister told me about Junque Cellar after she found a gift there for her husband’s mom. She said it was full of weird but cool stuff, so I ended up going with my mom to see what it was all about.
The shop’s in a basement, and stepping inside kind of felt like walking into someone’s quirky attic—in the best way.
Right away, I noticed how packed the place was with vintage finds. There were retro lamps, old rotary phones, costume jewelry, and racks of vintage clothes.
Every corner had something a little odd or unexpected that made me stop and take a second look.
I ended up spending way more time than I planned, just flipping through pop-culture memorabilia and tiny trinkets I hadn’t seen since I was a kid.
The furniture section grabbed my attention too. There were a few mid-century pieces and some solid old chairs that looked straight out of a film set.
The prices were fair, and everything I looked at seemed to be in solid condition.
The only tricky part is finding it. Since it’s underground, it’s not the most visible spot from the street.
Quirky basement shop, full of hidden gems
“Junque Cellar is always worth a look. You may not find the right thing every visit but keep trying and there are treasures to be found.
For a store to last this long in a basement takes a lot of perseverance. Take a look next time your on Whyte, you might just find exactly what you didn’t know you needed.”

Eclectic and treasure-filled
“This place is an unimaginable treasure trove of awesomeness. Part antique store, part thrift store, part pawn shop, part garage sale, all combined into your one-stop-shop for any random old object you might need.”

3. Capital City Vintage

Tuesday to Wednesday: Closed Thursday to Friday: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM Saturday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM Sunday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM |
Capital City Vintage doesn’t feel like your typical antique shop. It’s more like walking into a vintage mall. The place is huge and packed with over 50 different vendors.
There’s everything from retro furniture and mid-century pieces to ‘90s decor, clothes, and old accessories. It’s the kind of place where you find stuff you didn’t even know you were looking for.
I went in just to look around for a few minutes and found myself completely drawn in. Each vendor had something worth stopping for.
There was this sleek bar cart from the ‘70s that I kept circling back to, and I spotted a set of Pyrex bowls that looked exactly like the ones my grandma used to have.
One thing I liked was that some of the tags had handwritten notes about how the item was restored. It was a small detail, but it made the shopping experience feel more connected.
The only thing to keep in mind is that they don’t offer returns or holds. So if you’re on the fence about something, you either have to commit or risk missing out.
Nostalgic and delightfully quirky
“Had an absolute blast here. A treasure trove of beautiful, old, funny, cute, and nostalgically wonderful things. I found a metal german flip top address book in the best retro orange color and I’m obsessed. Didn’t know I needed it until today. Will be adding this to my monthly adventures. Highly recommend!”

4. Beck Antiques & Jewellery Inc.

| Title | Info |

| WEBSITE | https://beckantiques.com/ |
| ADDRESS | 10447 124 Street NW |
| CONTACT DETAILS | +1 780‑474‑7447 |
| OPERATING HOURS | Monday to Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Sunday: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM |
Beck Antiques & Jewellery Inc. has been around for over 35 years, and walking in, you can definitely feel that sense of history.
The place reminds me more of a museum than a regular store. Display cases are packed with old coins, rare jewelry, military memorabilia, and some global artifacts you’d usually only find in special exhibits.
I visited their main location and appreciated that the staff didn’t hover but were quick to help when I had questions. You could tell they really knew their stuff.
One of them mentioned that Beck’s appraisals are accepted by insurance companies, which adds a level of trust if you’re buying or selling something valuable.
They also buy and sell gold and coins. From what locals say, and from my own quick check, their prices are usually fairer than what you’d get at pawn shops.
If you like collectibles or need help with estate items, it’s handy that they offer so many services in one spot, like auctions and custom jewelry work.
The only downside I noticed is that the shop leans pretty heavily toward niche items like coins, jewelry, and war memorabilia. If you’re after vintage furniture or broader antique home decor, the selection is going to be limited.
Welcoming and full of character
“We stopped into this shop while browsing West Edmonton mall and we are we pleased that we did! The staff was fantastic (in particular the individual with the fantastic mullet) sorry I didn’t catch your name. All of the staff was incredibly warm and knowledgeable. This was our favorite store to visit and glad we got a little trinket to take back to Sudbury. If your thinking of stopping by your won’t be disappointed! Make sure to check out the spooky cabinet ;)”

Friendly and full of fascinating finds
“Very friendly, courteous people. The store is full of interesting antiques, it’s worth spending hours to study everything. And by the way, I was shortened the bracelet on my watch for free. Great place.”

5. Vinnie’s Treasure Shoppe

Vinnie’s Treasure Shoppe made it to my list because it’s entirely run by volunteers. Plus, there’s this laid-back, friendly atmosphere that’s hard to fake.
It’s smaller than most antique shops I’ve been to. But the way everything’s displayed, from vintage lamps and glassware to old furniture and quirky little finds, makes the space feel personal and inviting.
Prices were one of the nicest surprises. Compared to other shops in the city, a lot of what I saw here felt more accessible. I picked up a small side table for a fraction of what I expected to pay, and everything was in pretty good shape.
What I truly loved here was that the staff were happy to chat, answer questions, and even gave me a few tips about when they usually restock.
It was also nice knowing that every purchase goes toward community programs in Edmonton. They provide housing support, food aid, and health services, all through SSVP. That definitely added some meaning to the whole visit.
The only drawback is the limited hours. They’re only open three days a week. If you miss one of those days, or it happens to fall on a long weekend, you’re out of luck until the next opening.
Charming and full of great deals
Such a cute little store! Really happy we stopped in. We got amazing deals and some really cool items. Cant wait to come back soon and look at what they bring in next!”
