I’ve always loved comics, but I kept running into the same problem: finding a shop with both the latest issues and the classics felt impossible. Some stores had new releases but nothing for collectors, and others stocked only obscure titles I’d never heard of.
After a few frustrating trips, I realized this is something a lot of comic fans in Edmonton deal with.
And so, I made it a personal mission to find shops that we can rely on. I visited multiple comic shops in Edmonton, and these are the ones I found that offer a great mix of new releases, rare finds, and friendly, helpful staff.

I was able to grab a few back issues I had been hunting for. I also picked up a couple of indie graphic novels a staff member recommended, like Sunstone and Blacksad.
I like that the store doesn’t feel cluttered, which makes browsing actually enjoyable.
The staff are also approachable and really know their stuff. They can help if you’re hunting for a specific issue or just looking for a good recommendation.

When I stopped by Comic Fever, I was pleasantly surprised by the mix of new releases, back issues, and graded collectibles.
While looking through the shelves, I found a few titles I didn’t expect, like Saga Vol. 1 and Mister Miracle #5. I picked up Batman: Full Moon #4 and a couple of Marvel variants while in the shop.
The staff members gave great suggestions and interested me in some new storylines. I spent about an hour here after chatting with a staff member who clearly loved talking about comics. He was helpful and happy to share what was worth checking out.

We Have Issues has a cool mix of indie comics, back issues, and smaller press runs stacked neatly on the shelves.
Whenever I visit, I often find something that starts a good conversation or changes how I think about comics.
On my last visit, I picked up Y: The Last Man Vol. 1 and The Pirate Eye, which a friend suggested. I was lucky to get them since the staff said they often sell out.
Besides indie and back issues, they have a big selection of single issues and trade paperbacks. If you like collectibles, you’ll also find a nice variety of collector toys to browse.

Sanctum Comics is a great shop that feels welcoming and personal. Matt, the owner, gets to know what you like to read and suggests books that usually match your taste.
The store itself is packed with both new releases and timeless favorites. You can also find original art, figures, and collectibles, all at reasonable prices.
What sets Sanctum apart from other comic shops in Edmonton is how comfortable it is to hang out. There are comfy seats where customers can relax and look through a book they’ve been wanting to read.
And if you need a quick break, there’s even a free X-Men VS Street Fighter arcade game, which adds a fun touch of nostalgia to the shop.

Edmonton Coin and Stamp is one of my go-to spots for collectibles, but their comic section is solid too. They have everything from Marvel and DC to indie titles.
The staff are friendly and especially knowledgeable about comics. They’re great at pointing out issues I might have missed or suggesting new storylines to check out.
Besides comics and collectibles, they sell action figures and gaming supplies like Dungeons & Dragons miniatures and dice. It’s a nice bonus if you want to grab something extra while you’re browsing.
The shop also features a silver and gold section. I find it a cool twist since it’s not really something common in a comic shop in Edmonton.

CollectiVerse easily earns its spot among my list of the best comic shops in Edmonton. The store offers a great balance of new releases and vintage issues, with plenty of ABC titles to help you fill those gaps in your collection.
All the comics come bagged and boarded. I love that vintage issues here usually cost less than what you’d pay in the U.S., so you can find some good deals.
You’ll also find Pop Funko figures, trading cards like Pokémon and MTG, and some old vinyl records. The shop has something for everyone, so even casual browsers can discover something fun.
Compete runs and rare issues also show up fairly often, so it’s worth stopping by regularly if you’re looking to build your collection.
