Oysters? That’s my favorite! Well, everyone in the family loves it, but to be honest – we’re kinda picky. The brine has to be just right; it has to be freshly shucked, and of course, it shouldn’t send anyone to the ER because of poor preparation!

Thankfully, we already have a list of the best oyster spots in the city that wouldn’t let us down. We compiled them all in this list, so feel free to come visit them and see why we swear by each one!

1. SABOR Restaurant

Located in the historic Boardwalk Building in the Ice District, this restaurant brings authentic Portuguese and Spanish flair to its dishes. The oysters here are fresh and flavorful, with a touch of Iberian inspiration that makes the experience feel more upscale.

If you’re feeling adventurous, pair your oysters with one of their family-style platters. The seafood platters are a darling here, where you can enjoy oysters with other fresh options like clams and cod.

Just take note that some dishes can be a little too salty. You can leave a note or make a request to the servers to tone it down!

Finally, SABOR also offers private dining rooms for special occasions, from intimate gatherings to larger celebrations. With capacities ranging from 16 to 32 guests, these spaces are perfect for hosting events if you ever need one.

DaDeO Diner & Bar is a retro gem serving up a taste of New Orleans right here in Edmonton. Walking in, you’re greeted with vinyl booths, mini jukeboxes at each table, and an electric ‘50s diner vibe. But of course, the oysters are the highlights here!

Their fried oyster po’boy is the best seller. It’s a Cajun-style sandwich piled high with crispy, perfectly breaded oysters, herb mayo, and fresh veggies. Patrons usually pair it with their sweet potato fries for a comforting and filling meal.

But before the oysters, no meal here is complete without an appetizer or two. We recommend trying out their fritters, but if you want a shareable option, their Cajun calamari (tossed with red onion and spices) won’t let you down.

What’s great about these oysters is that they’re freshly shucked and served with a champagne mignonette and a gin-infused cocktail sauce. You can pair this with their handcrafted cocktails for the perfect match.

For a casual bite, it’s best to go for their Black Pearl Oyster plate. This gives you six oysters for just $18 or twelve oysters for $33.

If you’re in the mood for something a bit more indulgent, the seafood tower is the best choice. Their Hot Seafood Tower ($217.95) features Atlantic lobster, snow crab, jumbo prawns, and mussels.
